This copyright extension release is a revelation of Brian Wilson at his earliest and most creative. Some of these tracks are astonishing: the sonic power of "You Brought It All On Yourself" and "Bobby Left Me," the purity of Brian's vocal on "Mother May I" which could be an outtake from the "Surfin' USA" album were it not for the wacky cackling vocal of mother (!). Who knew that "The Big Beat" was a 1963 precursor to "Do You Remember?" And we'd always read about the legendary "Rabbit's Foot" but to hear it and realize it's the backing track for "Our Car Club..." just a revelation.

This is a real treat for Brian Wilson and Beach Boy completists. I hope that the people behind this release, Mark Linett, Alan Boyd and others, could favor us with some liner notes somewhere along the way to help us understand more about these wonderful tracks.

Found out about this last week and got a few days later. I normally don't purchase
MP3s but had to have this. Some really interesting stuff included here. A lot of it is some
pretty crude piano driven rockers but I really enjoy that early Beach Boys sound.
And I've never heard any of these before. "Summer Moon" sound quality is poor - not sure
if it's just my file. (?) Anyway it's definitely worth buying. A nice Christmas treat!

Very interesting compilation and upgrade of often fan traded 1963 Brian Wilson and related recordings.
Unfortunately one of the most interesting tracks Track 14 "Summer Moon" (Bob Norberg & Vicki Hale)
is a corrupted file filled with glitches and noise. Hopefully this will be corrected soon.

This download contains tunes I haven't heard before now. Tunes range from silly to striking in their arrangements. If you're interested in what was going on in Brian Wilson's mind in 1963, you must get this music.

Fun off beat listen to Brian Wilson's emerging talents. Perfect, no way, but that's the charm. His work with the Honeys sure shows his love of the early sixty girl groups.
