I got the Beatitudes for Children for my 3 year old daughter as part of my introducing her to Christianity. She loved it, for whatever reason I am not sure. It had some cute illustrations; random mice characters did nothing to help along the story but she liked them. The book is 62 pages long but she kept wanting to here more, by the time I finished my throat hurt, but she was able to sit and listen the whole time! She was very interested, esp since this Christmas she really understood that it was Jesus' birthday, and now she could relate Jesus to something else. She calls it her Jesus Book! :) We are not Catholic but I still enjoyed this book and it could easily work for other branches of Christianity with only a few terms which are not common language. With nearly 100 books in my child's library she picks this one up often to "read" by herself, but it seems to be for much older children, I recommend it though and know that an parent will have an easy time bringing the beatitudes to their little ones.

This is a wonderful book for children and adults alike. I got it and "Living the Ten Commandments for Children" for my grandsons, and they spell out in easy to understand language, the moral teachings of the Christian faith (or everyday life, even if you're not into faith). The grands and my daughter and son-in-law all enjoyed them, as did I.

This book is wonderful. My 5 year old really learned a lot from the simple explanations and examples. The book breaks down by explaining each Beatitude, an additional scripture verse that covers the same topic, and a sweet prayer at the end of each section. This book is geared toward children from 5-8 and younger children may not fully understand.
