More About the Author

Greetings all you book lovers!
My name is Carolyn Wolfe and I am an Free-lance writer and Author of eight books that include four children's books, two original poetry collections, and an original collection of my short stories. Avid Reader's Publishing Group is the wonderful publisher of six of my eight books!
I love writing for both children and adults ( and everyone in between) and can't wait to let my imagination run wild!

I am happy to announce that I have ventured into writing paranormal romance for adult readership. I have just become an author for a wonderful new Publisher located in England, Moon Rose Publishing. They specialize in Adult themed paranormal romance, fantasy and sword and sorcery, among other themes. My novella- "Blade's Magic" has been included in a new anthology, "A Celtic Tapestry" that was just released in March 2013. I am one of seven woman authors who contributed to this book whose overall theme is that the stories are connected to the Traditional Celtic Holidays. Just a reminder, these stories are for adults, not for kids!

A little about my background, Although I am American, I was born in England just outside of London. My parents returned to America when I was just a baby and I enjoy dual citizenship which delights me.
I grew up reading stories about "Noddy and Big Thumb", among other British classics for children, and it has been commented that my style of writing reflects a little of my British background. I would like to think so!

I am currently living in Winchester, VA with my husband Scott and many animal companions. My website address is www.whenthemoonspeaks.com for more info!

I want to welcome you to my page and invite you to take a peek at my books. I do hope you will enjoy them.

Format: Paperback
The Bedtime of the Sky and Other Sleepy-Bye Stories, by Carolyn Wolfe and illustrated by Leslie Mathis is a children's book containing 5 short stories she originally wrote for her nieces and nephews. The author uses poetry to make the stories more interesting for kids (and adults too!).

The first story, "Dolly Dear" is about a little girl's doll who comes alive at night and who helps the little girl clean her room. But was it all a dream?

"If Mom Designed the Universe" is a funny story, from a child's point of view, of what the world would be like if Mom was the creator.

I think my favorite of the five stories is "There's a Dragon in My Sock Drawer", though. It's about the things that go on in a child's bedroom to cause such havoc and grief which cause missing socks, messy bed covers, and tangled clothes hangers. I wasn't brilliant enough to think of these things when I was little.

Here's an except from "There's a Baby in the Sink", for your enjoyment:
So now I know that a Kitchen sink
Can be used for more than you would think
I suppose it could wash a dish or two..
But it's really for bathing my sister Sue....

These are fun bedtime stories, and I really enjoyed the illustrations. The girls and I will rotate this book with our other bedtime story books.
