This is a wonderful, true story of Taylor Sappe's life. Written in his own words, it tells of his childhood in Beirut and how he makes his way to America at the young age of eleven and proceeds to make a new life for himself. It takes place in the early 1900's. Taylor takes us along with him on his life's journey full of joys and sorrows. It shows how different things were back then compared to today's world. I found it to be very interesting and recommend it to anyone interested in seeing how hardworking and determined people were back then. Though these times are now referred to as "simple times", you will see they were not simple at all.
