Interactive Children's Book in the Berenstain Bears Series

The Berenstain Bears are a cartoon family of bears created by Stan and Jan Berenstain in a series of children's books now numbering in the hundreds that began in 1962. The Berenstain Bears Learn to Share is an interactive children's book for Android tablets and smartphones, and part of the Living Lights series, helping children learn how God wants them to live every day.

To promote reading in young children, individual words are highlighted during the story narration, and audio and written descriptions of characters or objects are displayed when the reader touches their pictures. Professional narration, background audio and enlarged artwork for each scene add to the story's appeal. By combining the original text and artwork with features that entertain and promote reading, this interactive electronic book attracts children of all ages.

Readers have the choice of having the story read to them while controlling page turning by swiping their finger across the screen, reading it themselves, or having the story run in auto-play mode.

Story Line

"For God loves a cheerful giver." -2 Corinthians 9:7

What's more fun than spending alone time? Spending time with friends and family! In The Berenstain Bears Learn to Share, Sister Bear discovers an important lesson about sharing. Share in Sister Bear's joy as she learns that God has blessed her with great friends and lots of time and toys to share. When her bear friends go home for the day, who will her favorite playmate be?

Trusted History of the Berenstain Series

With over 300 Berenstain Bears books published since 1962, the inspiration for the characters came from the Berenstains' sons, Leo and Mike, when their parents decided to try creating children's books. The first book became The Big Honey Hunt, published in 1962 by Dr. Seuss's Beginner Books imprint. The popularity of the books subsequently spawned numerous child-friendly television shows and computer games.

5.0 out of 5 stars My 5 year old daughter loves these books April 6, 2013

I bought this along with the other 14 Berenstain Bear books that are from the Berenstain Bear books Living Light series for my 5 year old daughter for her Birthday. The Living Light series of the Berenstain Bear books are good stories for kids with a positive message that includes Bible verses. It is nice to have some books that entertain and instill positive morals and reinforce the behavior that we want her to emulate. There are also other Berenstain Bear books that are not part of the Living light series that are also entertaining but don't contain any Bible verses. You can go to [...] to find out which books are included in the Living Light series and which ones are not.

2.0 out of 5 stars Did you know the Bears found Jesus? June 25, 2011

The app follows the book exactly, from what I can tell. They really forced the rhyming and have phrases which wouldn't make any sense to a child like "I get my kicks" (so that we'd have a rhyme against pick-up-sticks).

In case you haven't read any new Berenstain Bears books lately, they've signed a deal with Zonderkidz (a division of Zondervan). Now the books talk about praying, God, and Jesus. That's right- you can also find God Loves You, Say Their Prayers, and Go to Sunday School. Be sure to get the iPhone app, hardcover book, and Kindle edition also!

It doesn't look like any of the Berenstain Bear apps on the market aren't this Christian flavor. If you're part of the 25% of the US population which doesn't have Jesus in their heart, skip these apps. At least there's 3 modes in the Oceanhouse Media framework- I can just make up my own words. I should have gone with Dr. Seuess- if Zonderkidz gets ahold of his work, I'm calling a Jihad!
