This CD is the best I have of Hall and Oates, and actually, the best I have out of all my CD's. It has songs for every different mood at any given time. I purchased this CD about a month ago, and I love it! A lot of the songs, bought back many great memories. Sometimes I would hear a song and think, I've heard this before and I love it...I didn't know it was by Hall and Oates. This is definately a classic for all you Hall and Oates lovers, and a must for others who love 80's pop.

I bought it for myself the daughter hi-jacked it. If you like 70's and 80's music it's good pop-rock. Listen to just about any classics station and hear some of it.

I once read a blurb somewhere indicating that even over Simon and Garfunkel, Hall and Oates remains as the best selling rock duo of all times. The validity of these statistics is of no importance to me but classifying Daryl Hall as the most verifiable, street wise blue eyed soul singer is definitely crucial to my estimation of Hall and Oates as the urban soul mosaic of all attempts to emulate a conditional Motown performance. This is an inner city Philadelphia Sound, remember the Ojays, Harold Melvin and Teddy Pendergrast. From his wheelchair, Teddy with his throaty soul man's vocals is a lot like blue eyed soul singer Daryl Hall who came up the same way. My favorite Hall and Oates single is She's Gone. It's an incredible, melodic anthem to what is urban rock and soul. The song undulates with musical perfection, high and low tones and technically a masterpiece. I really love Rich Girl because it is replete with a masterful beat and Maneater for some of the same reasons. Also I don't want to minimize John Oates. Obviously he is not out front but interestingly enough he has contributed magnificently as a songwriter on their material and to put it bluntly, it is Hall and Oates so John gets equal credit while maintaining a low profile. Michael McDonald, The Righteous Brothers and on the distaff side, Dusty Springfield who was absolutely and positively amazing were all so -called blue eyed soul people. The Son of a Preacher Man, Dusty's biggest hit is adored by black and white audiences identically. And that is why Philadelphia's Daryl Hall could conceivably be the best blue eyed soul singer of recent times, because he has lived the life, walked the walk and is positively believable as such. I have Best of Hall and Oates on CD, Ipod, MP3 and cassette tape and if there was more media available I would transfer files. I emphatically endorse and recommend this CD and urge you to make your purchase for total and absolute musical satisfaction.
