These recipes were so easy and contained most of the ingredients we have . I think you could save money with these. I will definitely use some of these especially the drain opener cause I already know it works.

I was looking for recipes that didn't call for ammonia, dawn soap, and Clorox. It had some good ideas, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Homemade Cleaners June 22, 2013

This book is clearly written, easy to understand, and inspired me to get serious about making my own cleaners to save money and to use more healthful products. My husband and I have a very tight budget and I have been couponing to save money on household cleaners but I will save even more if I use these recipes to make my own cleaners.

1.0 out of 5 stars Zero stars March 2, 2014
I give this book zero stars if it would allow me to, waiste of money! Bought this thinking I would find all kinds of recipes for cleaning supplies and laundry detergents and it only shows 1 for laundry detergent and 1 for cleaning bathrooms and 1 for cleaning kitchen. What a waiste of money! Believe the negative reviews and save your money!

I really like this book, and for the price, I think it's one that home owners/ makers should take a gander at. Now most people who are looking into home made cleaning recipes, do so because we are trying to avoid paying too much money for dubious chemicals in our homes. With that said, it was a breath of fresh air to read that it's okay to use a little bleach one in a while to sanitize, and that good old fashioned elbow grease is the key.

The book is a pretty easy read, and I definitely took away a few things that I have already implemented in my home. The main one is to accurately measure/know how much product I am using. I am the person that squirts half the thing of dawn in the sink then wonder why I'm always running out :) I have been also just using a damp towel edge for cleaning mirrors, and lo and behold, I don't *need* Windex or a vinegar concoction.

It was an easy read, and I recommend it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Should have noted the title better October 2, 2013

You get what you pay for. This was cheap and I wasn't really expecting a lot. I did not, however, pay close enough attention to the title. I was researching natural cleaners made with cheap everyday products. These still require purchasing cleaning products, but will save the buyer tons of money.

I mostly use Clorox, baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, dawn, rubbing alcohol as well. I strongly agree that vinegar doesn't disinfect as well as Clorox. Read more
