If you decide to buy this CD, wait patiently by the mail box till it arives. Upon arrival, quickly open the box, then pull the security take from the jewel case. Open the jewel case and place the CD in one hand. Break the CD in half, then slit your wrists with the remaining shards. As you begin to die look at your reflection in the mirror-like surfice of the broken CD, and ask your self what you were thinking when you ordered this CD!

most breathe taking performance ever,
This review is from: Best of (Audio CD)
if you ever want to see a performer bear his soul to millions of people through the art of song, i suggest you listen to one of the greatest works of art ever created by a single man... NINJA RAP! this song should be your lone reason for purchasing this album. if you want to hear a song that will not only touch your heart, but the deepest reaches of your soul, ninja rap is the song for you. only the most cold hearted people in the world can listen to this song and not cry.

Vanilla (Ice) is an acquired taste.,

It's a damn shame this dude still gets no love from most of the general Hip Hop / Rap population. Vanilla Ice still gets dissed to this day as a "rapper wanna-be" who sold himself out to be as a fraud. (Partly his fault, partly being naive in the music world, mostly his crooked manager.) Back when MC Hammer and V.I. were ruling the rap charts in 1991, you couldn't help but hear ICE ICE BABY on the radio and MTV (Yes, they actually played music videos at one time!). This dude was way better than Hamma and I would venture to say the Eminem of his short lived era, with damn good rap and dance skills, yet Hamma got most of the glory and respect. I would bet my entire music collection that there were plenty of brothas who had TO THE EXTREME among their cd collection in '91, but listened to it on their headphones in "extreme" privacy for fear of being caught and ridiculed by their homies. Too bad the Hip Hop community views non-Black rappers (Whites & Latinos, etc.) with disdain and mistrust. (The Elvis syndrome?) In terms of the Greatest Hits cd, I would have liked to have seen the other two versions of ICE ICE BABY (an electronica and heavy metal version) on here. (YouTube has both videos to it......check it out.) Well, it's 20 years later (did I just use the number 20?), and V.I. is still doing his thang! Maybe it's time to introduce Little Johnny/Jamaal/Juan to The Ice Man's music, and let him form an unbiased opinion. I suspect that he will enjoy it.....if only in his room and on his iPOD.

This is a greatest hits album?,

I can't believe that somebody had the nerve to make Vanilla Ice a greatest hits album, let alone put Ninja Rap on it. Go to Kazaa, download Ice Ice Baby about 10 times, put it on one cd. Thats Vanilla Ice's greatest hits album

When you're assembling a Vanilla Ice "Greatest Hits" album, the track listing shouldn't be hard to decide on.
1. Ice Ice Baby 2. Ice Ice Baby 3. Ice Ice Baby 4. Ice Ice Baby 5. Ice Ice Baby 6. Ice Ice Baby 7. Ice Ice Baby 8. Ice Ice Baby 9. Ice Ice Baby 10. Ice Ice Baby 11. Ice Ice Baby 12. Ice Ice Baby 13. Ninja Rap Because that's it. He didn't have any other hits. Period. I do love the Ice Man, though! So maybe on my greatest hits compilation we could throw in a bonus: 14. Too Cold (Ice Ice Baby Remix) [Bonus Track] Boom, baby! Boom!

Vanilla finally released a greatest hits album!!! Everyone who was in high school in 1990-91 should wown this album.Vanilla gets no respect ... The people who currently dis Vannila Ice should listen to this album. They might enjoy it. There are many good songs here - Ice Ice Baby (the first song by a rap artist to hit #1 on Billboard's charts), Play The Funky Music (top 5 on Billboard), Ninja Rap, Cool As Ice, and Satisfaction ( a great rap cover of the Rolling Stones classic). I highly recommend this album!!!

My son also wanted this one, because he heard the song Ice, Ice Baby. Let's go waaay back! But there were too many songs that had bad language for us to want him to hear, so we sent it back.

I will agree with a few anti-ice fans that this album is not his greatest hits ever,Why? cause he is bussy with his greatest hits on his albums from Hard to Swallow to Bi pollar. When Ice starded out in 1991 he had a manager that played him like a puppet that is where this album is comming from. Now Ice is on his own and is creating the best songs i have ever heard-he is doining it his way now.Alot of people will not enjoy this album, but it all started with the songs on this album.

They smartly chose the best 10 songs from Ice,

Even though Vanilla Ice's stint with SBK records was short lived, this 10-song collection strongly covers that period. The sequence of the songs are good and the catchiness of his rap songs still hold up! I still like "Ice Ice Baby", but I was surprised to hear "Rollin' in My 5.0"( which I played the most from his live album) and the high-energy, heavy hitting "Get Wit It"! The '94 songs from "Mind Blowin'" are very well done. The non-album songs not on "To The Extreme" give this album some bounce! A lot of people still didn't think this album was necessary, but he has been a hot-selling artist during the past decade and is still talked about to this day. People still listen to "Ice Ice Baby" and other songs--that's why he has been so enduring. I don't see him as a one-hit wonder, never have!!!! He was like the Eminem of the first half of the '90s, did his own thing, never cared what the haters said, and his first few albums sold big. His willingness to be different from the rest of the rap pack has made him stand out more in the genre. And he's still doing it with his live concerts and his more rock direction. But this album demonstrates the first phase of his success.
