Consider this the beginning of your JERRY LEE LEWIS collection...,
By
This review is from: The Best Of (MP3 Download)
As a fan and collector of the work of Jerry Lee Lewis, I have literally hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of his songs. This "Best Of" album is selected from his earliest recordings, all during his contract with SUN RECORDS of Memphis, Tennessee, if memory still serves. He and Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and, oh yeah, Elvis Presley all recorded there during the same period of early rock history.
These are the historic, ground-rattling, opening-salvos of Rock 'N' Roll being born. Loud and sexy and unapologetic and wonderful, they introduced pure mayhem to music and music was better for it. Jerry Lee Lewis was (and still is) the first punk rocker. If you are unfamiliar with "The Killer," as he calls himself, this is a steal of a deal. If your meager collection of this old guy's early hits needs filling out, this is a steal of a deal. Buy it, you won't be sorry. Jerry Lee Lewis was among the very first inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and served as the OPENING ACT for both nights of the Hall of Fame's recent New York City anniversary parties, during which, at 73, he kicked the piano bench off the stage. ROCK ON! Set the piano on fire! P.S.: I have a D.J. friend who insists that to this day the one song that fills up a dance floor at wedding receptions with otherwise shy and reticent folks is Jerry Lee's "Great Balls of Fire." He claims it works every single time.

In my nearly 57 years I have heard many so called "best of" records only to leave the turntable or to update myself a little the CD player or IPOD feeling cheated.
This record is not like that at all. It contains all of "The Killer's" greatest hits. You can literally feel him kicking his piano bench out from under him, his long locks hanging down in his face, and the sweat flying all about. I promise, you will be up dancing around your house. You will not be able help yourself. "Great Balls of Fire", "Drinkin Wine Spo Dee O Dee", "Whole Lotta a Shakin", "Cold Cold Heart", "Matchbox", "Ubangi Stomp", "Down the Line", "Lewis Boogie", "Wild One (Real Wild Child)", "Breathless", and many more of what I would call all of "The Killer's" best. It'll be the best $5 bucks you ever spent. 'Rebel' Rod says "Don't upset The Killer and buy this record. Any true Rock 'N Roll connoisseur should already have this collection in their library.
