An excellent collection of the songs that made the 60's what we like to remember. Not the ugly part, but the fun part.

Even non-Surfers remember these songs with fond recollections of a gentler time, when the biggest danger you were likely to face was a Wipeout.

The Beach Boys, The Surfaries, The Daytonas, and more.

I think this is a pretty good compilation. It's kind of short --- it only has 14 tracks and only plays for, I think, about 32 minutes. The tracks are good ones, though (most of them anyway).
The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, The Ventures... several good (or great) "surf" artists are present on this CD. Most of them are represented by one track each, but 3 of them (The Beach Boys, J&D, and The Surfaris) are each represented by two tracks.
Most of the tracks are in stereo; only 3 of them (The Surfaris' "Wipe Out," The Trashmen's "Surfin' Bird," and The Rivieras' "California Sun") are in mono. I think the sound quality is not great but good, at least for an earlier CD (although "Wipe Out" and "Surfin' Bird" don't sound as good as the other tracks).
Most of the songs are the recordings that are probably the most familiar to most people (and that made hits), but many people may not recognize a couple of them, as those particular recordings of the songs are not the ones that you seem to usually find. I doubt that this recording of "Let's Go Trippin'" is even from the '60s; I figure it was probably recorded in the '70s (Dick Dale & His Del-Tones DID do remakes of some of their '60s stuff during this period). It's not the original hit recording, I do know that much. It's also credited to just Dick Dale, not to him and His Del-Tones (if that really means anything). And, I don't know if the version of The Surfaris' "Surfer Joe" that is included here is from the '60s or not, but it's not the one I'm most familiar with, that's for sure. It's the track on this CD that I like the least; I find the familiar "longer" version very preferable. (I don't like this CD's version of "Let's Go Trippin'" as much as the hit version either, but I like it more than this version of "Surfer Joe.
