Age 60 has rarely looked this good: Tina Turner, giving a London concert in November 1999 to celebrate her 60th birthday. The concert, surprisingly, consists of the kind of tepid, middle-of-the-road fare she's been turning out since reviving her career in the mid-1980s with "What's Love Got to Do with It." The best parts of this video are the archival footage of a lithe, young Tina doing the Pony and the Hully-Gully and any other thing she wanted to while performing with ex-husband Ike Turner. There's little of Turner's contemporary output that holds a candle to the older clips of Tina performing "River Deep Mountain High" or "Proud Mary." The interview segments include glowing comments by everyone from Sting to Keith Richards, Al Green to Oprah Winfrey to Phil Spector. The video's twin low points: a live duet with faux-rocker Bryan Adams and Cher's reminiscences of counseling Tina to leave Ike, shortly after Cher left Sonny. --Marshall Fine

Format:DVD
This concert was filmed in London in November 1999 to celebrate six decades of Tina Turner on planet earth. The DVD has been available in Europe since June and finally it will be available to American fans this November. The show is not the same as the one she's currently touring North America with. The concert starts with the 1966 classic River Deep, Mountain High. After this landmark song she sings the title track of her most recent album "24-7". The high tempo continuous with a great version of her 1989 smash hit "Steamy Windows". Although her recent European no. 1 hit and US Billboard Dance chart top 3 single "When the heartache is over" is not really suitable for a live version she gives it a try here. For the next song, the UK hit single "Whatever you need", she is joined by the London Gospel Choir. Two ballads, "Don't leave me this way" and her 1983 comeback hit "Let's stay together" are next before she is joined again by the London Gospel Choir for probably the best track of the DVD : a superb version of "Talk to my heart", also taken from her most recent album "Twenty four seven". Tina gives everything she's got in her rocking version of "Hold on I'm coming"(unavailable elsewhere!) and is than joined by Bryan Adams for 2 duets. Of course the 1985 smash hit "It's only love" and the recent duet "Without you". Although her studio version of "All the woman" on "Twenty four seven" sounds rather weak, the live version here is one of the most sizzling tracks I've ever heard. The concert closes with her two classics "Nutbush City Limits" and 1989's European number 1 "The Best". The dvd also includes birthday dedications from such artists as : Bob Geldof, Al Green, Dolly Parton, Annie Lennox, Cher, David Bowie, Mick Jagger, Phil Spector, PP Arnold, Bono, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martin and Sting + interview with the lady herself. The European dvd also included bonus material : Promo videos for when the heartache is over and "whatever you need" ( Superb Video! ) + a biography and a photo gallery. The best Turner video available to date !

INCREDIBLE VOCAL PERFORMANCE November 11, 2000
By A Customer
Format:DVD
This concert was filmed in London, England last year(1999)...and the much edited version was featured on VH1 earlier this year(2000). This DVD is uncut and fantastic. Tina delivers her best live vocal performance in years with the help of the Royal Symphony Orchestra, a rocking band, backing vocalist and dancers, and the London Community Gospel Choir. Watching this Rock icon rip through each song is breathtaking. The emphashis of this live concert is not on production...or choreograpy; but on her powerful unique voice and the music that backs it. She showcases some of her biggest hits incuding "whats love got to do with it" and "the best". Highlights however are from her latest CD "twenty four seven" including a soulful performance of "dont leave me this way", and the gospel drenched "whatever you need" and "talk to my heart". Turner also delivers a stunning performance of her now classic "lets stay together" seated on a stool tina soulfully croons this tune. Also included is a Bryan Adams duet, interview clips of Tina herself, and dedications from such celeberties as Oprah, Mariah Carey, Ricky Martain, Paul McCartney, David Bowie and Cher to name a few. The theme of this stunning concert is Tina's birthday...in which she had just turned 60..and with the aide of Bryan Adams the audience sings "happy birthday" to Tina. This concert is not be any means what we are use to seeing from Tina you wont see moving stage pieces...explosions...or flickering lighting, nor will u see a stadium sized audience. Instead and rightfully you will see a small but enthussed audience of about 200..and intimate lighting to make this a moving and intimate evening. Tina gives us her absolute best vocal performance that you wont hear on her prevoius DVD's "live in amsterdam" "rio 88". Whether your a Tina fan, rock fan, or an all out music fan..you wont want to miss this DVD by one of Rock and Rolls true living Legends. "CELEBRATE" her, her music and her milestone birthday again and again with this DVD.

Happy Birthday Tina!!! October 16, 2003
Format:DVD
In november of 1999 there were two important things to celebrate in show business. First the 60th birthday of one of the most important figures in music and second her new album after almost 4 years.
On this DVD you'll party with Tina's music were she sings the songs of her latest album at that time. The multi-platinum "Twenty four seven" and of course some of her greatest hits such as: the best, steamy windows, what's love got to do with it, let's stay together and river deep-mountain high.
You'll also find an interview with Tina, special appearances by Paul McCartney, Bono and The Edge, Annie Lennox, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Knopfler, Sting, Mariah Carey, Al Green, Keith Richards, Bob Geldof, Phil Spector, George Miller, Gloria Reuben and Ricky Martin.
The special guest of that celebration was Bryan Adams and Tina and him sang their duets (the 1985 Top 15 hit "it's only love" and the 1999's "without you"). Continuing with the guest stars, you'll also find special performances with Cher, Rod Steward, Mick Jagger and David Bowie.
As part of Tina's band there was The Royal Philarmonic Orchestra and as special features in the DVD version you'll find the videos of the hits "when the heartache is over" and "whatever you need", Tina's biography and photo gallery.
This DVD is a must have, Tina's performance is amazing, the guests are the best, the songs are very well chosen, here you'll also find rare Tina's footage from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's and finally you'll see Tina blowing her cake's candles.
