I find that Debbie Ford and I always seem to be writing or speaking about the same current vibrational energy. For instance, a few years ago, when clients were carefully delving into their individual shadow sides in a solid attempt to own and integrate them, it was reassuring to be able to recommend her very accessible books The Secret of the Shadow and The Dark Side of the Light Chasers. And, when counselling couples were open to exploring the silver lining in their dissolving union, it was a great comfort to be able to refer them to Debbie Ford's Spiritual Divorce.

These days, I often find myself working with clients who haven't yet stepped into a whole life but are instead waiting, hoping and watching. They may have dreams but they have a difficult time manifesting them into reality. I often tell them that the opposite of waiting is creating and Debbie Ford's latest book carries the same philosophy. The Best Year of Your Life: Dream it, Plan it, Live it provides the reader with a proven and practical plan of action for creating that life here and now. It does so with wise guidance and teachings, positive stories and an abundance of questions and exercises - which really help to get the ball rolling! I'll be recommending The Best Year of Your Life for a while now.

As Benjamin Franklin said, "He who lives upon hope will die fasting." The Best Year of Your Life has completely altered my perspective and has given me concrete steps to create exactly what it is I have been saying I want for so many years. No longer am I living in a fantasy world of "someday isle!" This book has shown me what was missing - a simple plan of action! Yes! It's that simple yet extremely profound in shifting my view of what's possible.

I especially love the concept of claiming the moment. So many moments pass us by on a daily basis and I now have a way of creating special moments where they might not have been in the past. I can already see that I will look back on 2005 as a collection of treasured moments to remember.

I hope others will be motivated to join me in creating an extraordinary year. Thank you Debbie Ford for sharing your wisdom with the world! I am committed to passing it on to everyone!

This book provides a great set of useful and easy to understand tools for building a fantastic New Year. The way that the book is structured- dream it, plan it, live it- allows the reader to see where they want to go, develop a plan to get there, and monitor their progress along the way. I am buying copies of this book for all my employees and recommending it to friends.

I love this book! I always ring in the New Year with the best of intentions, but can't seem to find a way to make them stick. This book has quickly become my go-to, re-read every morning, 110% fool-proof guide to making my resolutions happen. I feel more inspired than ever to make a commitment to improving my life. I'm SO grateful I found this book, and have already recommended it to anyone and everyone who wants to make '05 the best year yet.

I'm always on the prowl for ways to improve my annual planning session--tools, tips and tricks as well as inspiring ideas and new ways of looking at trenchant problems. While this book boasts three outstanding tools for getting more out of your life (they're the ideas in chapters 9, 10 & 11), it falls down in the structure department. For my money, a far better goal-planning book is Your Best Year Yet!: Ten Questions for Making the Next Twelve Months Your Most Successful Ever, by Ginny Ditzler, which also came out of years of workshops, coaching and the author's own self-as-guinea-pig experiments. Please feel free to leave (thoughtful) rebuttals, addenda and comments, especially if they'll help me make these video reviews more helpful and less wordy.

I got this book early at a local book store and it is the answer to how to live the best year of you life. It combines the practical reality of making that happen in the face of all the emotional issues that get in the way of that.

This book will travel with me everywhere and I am so excited about the plan I am putting into action. I am even more excited because with this book, I can see how I can deal with all the things that have stopped me from doing this in the past. This is a great book that anyone who wants an amazing life and is willing to do the work to have it, should have.

A must read!

This book was a wonderful gift that I recently received. It's not so much new stuff but spelled out simple steps...that's what's missing in so many books today. Some readers don't get this as well as many editors and book publishers. We don't really need NEW information, we need the "old" tried and true rules explained well in simple terms. Not because we can't commprehend fluff and long winded babble in most books, it because we are busy and want to know how to do it, when and what works -- AND why! This is an excellent resource to get your life back on track. Also suggested: Mommy CEO, a family/health book which is a perfect compliment to this book if you are a parent or grandparent. It also spells everything out due to a busy society. These are the types of books that make an instant impact and changes in a life, whether it's yours or your families, which is really your emotional well-being in moving forward to accomplish personal goals. Want to succeed in 2005 --read both books and follow the detailed simple plans for success.

A girlfriend gave me this book for a Christmas present, and it is wonderful! #1 New York Times bestselling selling author, Debbie Ford, tackles the issue of New Years Resolutions, Life, Life Vision, and Goals. She adroitly addresses it is twelve simple and profound chapters. I say simple and profound because so many people desire good things in their lives, and yet take a "if it was meant to be, it would HAPPEN" approach to their desires... and then find themselves 10, 20, 30, 40 years later in a career that wasn't what they really wanted at a company they don't jive with, single when they had always hoped to marry, married but depressively unhappy.... you get the picture. So many people do indeed live lives of quiet desperation, when to break out of those stultifying ruts takes to "dream it, plan it, live it."

Debbie's tone is one which is quietly kind and encouraging. She admonishes us not just to "One Day...." hope or to "Next year..." or even "When I have more...." to take the time to envision our desires and dreams and to aim our lives towards them.

In her PLANNING YOUR YEAR section as well as throughout other parts of the book, she provided concrete exercises to enable us to do this ourselves.

She challenges us to turn away from the path of an average mediocre life and instead to find our best selves and to joyously express and live that instead. Thus becoming an inspirational example to others.

Highly recommend. While you might think this is only a December/January timeframe book, in actuality you can START Your Best Year of Your Life - the year - at any time of year. Why not now?

Why leave the best year of your life to chance and circumstance? Instead of letting those New Year's resolutions fall by the wayside again, get this book, read it and use it. Debbie Ford's latest work is crystal clear, imminently practical and profound in its results. She offers a great formula for how to create the best year of your life and start living it right now. Having read this book, I feel I've got a clear structure and program to creating my best life. So what are you waiting for? So for all you procrastinators or folks who live in analysis paralysis, just ask yourself, "If not you, who? If not now, when?"

What a well-written book. Organized well, with just the right amount of information about each of the important life-changing concepts. Great examples. Very inspiring.

This is the "end-all" self-improvement book. After reading this book, you no longer have any excuses to not go out and live the best year of your life. The fear of change and getting out of one's comfort zones will be tempting excuses not to follow the instructions... but this book makes a good argument that there is even more pain and difficulty living a mediocre life.

At the end of the book the reader has the choice to go back to living their old life, or follow Debbie Ford's very compelling instructions... and start living a life that is fulfilling and meaningful to others. Being ignorant is no longer an option! I wonder how many of the people who have written reviews in 2005-2007, giving this book five stars, have had the courage to follow the book's instructions.

I believe the secret to success is to use this book as a manual, almost on a daily basis, for the next 365 days. Otherwise, it becomes a temporary "feel good" book, that doesn't help instigate any change. Continually being aware of, and continually applying, the 19 "TO DO's" at the end of each concept... will be the secret to making this year the best year of our lives!

I highly recommend this book!
