However if you like your fiction to challenge historical events, read on...

Praise for The Betrayed Series...
"Carolyn McCray's 30 PIECES OF SILVER proves that Dan Brown's crown is up for grabs. Part minefield and all roller-coaster ride, here is a story as controversial as it is thriller. Hunker down for a long night because once you start this book you won't be putting it down."
James Rollins, NY Times bestseller of Bloodline

"Suspend all reality for a time and read this can't put down mystery adventure.Vince Brandt-Special Forces and Dr Rebecca Monroe a paleoarchaeoligist are dispatched with Brand's crew to track down missing fragments of the stone tablets of the Ten Commandants."
Ruth Ingram

More praise for The Betrayed series...

"I usually skip short stories but I loved 30 Pieces of Silver so much that I knew Ambush would be worth reading. I was right! It is a fantastic introduction to Brandt and his crew leading the reading straight into 30 Pieces of Silver. I am so in love with Carolyn McCray's writing. Move over Dan Brown, there is a new sheriff on town!"

5.0 out of 5 stars The Missions December 5, 2012

I really enjoyed this series. It is well written, good plots, great characters, lots of action and nice sense of humor. Character development was well crafted from book to book. Still looking forward to reading Shiva.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Rollickingly Great Read! January 26, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Oh yeah, these black ops non-coms are charmed to the max, but hey, that makes it all the more fun. These resourceful characters slide, roll, fall, rocket or get dragged by their fingernails from cliffhanger to cliffhanger but their wit, humor and audacity make credibility a non-issue. The synergy of talents and personality make it all work...somehow. The Betrayed Series is strictly for those seeking an armchair adventure where you can root for the underdogs and bust a gut laughing. Brava!

5.0 out of 5 stars Must have collection for the Betrrayed Series January 9, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
In order to have the complete flow of the action of the Betrayed Series, one must own The MISSIONS. They are the pre- and post- sequels to 30 PIECES, HAVOC AND SHIVA. See my review of SHIVA for the correct sequence to read the Betrayed Series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Action-packed to the last sentence... March 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This collection was my introduction to McCray. It has everything a book should have: action, suspense, and a little romance. McCray's method of writing is daring yet she pulls it off beautifully.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Believeable!! April 3, 2013
By John...
Format:Kindle Edition
I'm sorry to be so critical, it's not a badly written book. But, the situations are really beyond credibility! You really can't fly a helicopter below the canopy of a tropical forest, nor bank itr on its side and expect it to stay airborn. Also the miraculous saves of the 'Team' always just in time, time after time, trashing of national landmarks, etc., etc.!! It's just too much! More like the Saturday matinees back in the day! Better luck next time!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Exciting!
Fast paced story. I liked the way Ms. McCray intertwined Biblical history in her story. What one has to remember, though, is that this is just a story - not Biblical history.

More About the Author

Carolyn has had a long and extremely interesting road to become a bestseller.

When she head to veterinary school those many years ago she had no idea decades later she would be writing controversial historical thrillers, gut wrenching mysteries and roller coaster-style action/adventure tales!

Born in San Francisco and raised in the beautiful Napa Valley, Carolyn always had an overactive imagination. As a child you could usually find her dragging the neighborhood children out to the haunted barn to make her Nancy Drew-style audio tapes. Oh and did she mention, there was an entire life-sized recreation of the nativity scene in the rafters? Yeah, that wasn't just a little creepy.

Which of course was great practice for writing such blockbusters as Plain Jane: A Patterson-style thriller with a dash of Hannibal and 30 Pieces of Silver: An Extremely Controversial Historical Thriller.

Carolyn is honored to have a seven book contract with Amazon's mystery and thriller imprint, Thomas & Mercer along with being one of the eight books during the inaugural launch of Amazon's new Serial program (9th Circle).

With over 250,000 books sold, Carolyn now lives on a beautiful lake in the Pacific Northwest where the fog rolls in over the water, snuffing out all signs of life around her. Yep, she still loves the creepy!

What is this book about?
Well I only read the first one...30 Pieces of silver. Basically in a nutshell its the search for the bones of Jesus Christ. It gets a little crazy along the way with fast cars and RPG's and exploding everything but its a fun read. If your religiously sensitive I would avoid it.
