A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW 4.5 Stars | Reviewed by: Millarda
I really liked this book and it is a keeper. It exhibits the dilemma of letting go of what you know and embracing the opportunity for love and happiness. It is very well written and constructed. The characters mature nicely throughout this book. You can easily visualize what you are reading.
The dialogue is easy to understand. There is a lot of tension and conflict between Lucas and Amy. Lucas’ father wanted his son to find happiness and love. Lucas wasn’t ready for any type of change in his life. Lucas liked living with no attachments and wanted to keep it that way, little did he know his father already had other plans. He knew he wanted grandchildren while he could still play with them. If that was going to happen he had to do something.

Joseph Anderson has decided it's time for his three successful sons to find brides. Joseph wants grandchildren to fill his mansion, and he wants them immediately. His eldest son, Lucas, is successful in all areas of his life, except love, and Joseph begins matchmaking. He finds Amy Harper and deems her the perfect daughter-in-law. He just needs to get her and Lucas to both realize they're made for each other.

Lucas Anderson is wealthy, sexy, and stubborn. He has no desire to have any woman enter his life, causing chaos, or using his family's name. Many women have tried, and he's been successful in finding out who they are beneath their false smiles.

Amy Harper was raised in tragic circumstances and doesn't like pampered, rich men who have been handed everything with a silver spoon. She spent years finishing her education and then received a job with the Anderson Corporation. She instantly doesn't like her incredibly sexy boss, who is arrogant and thinks every woman should fall at his feet.

When Amy becomes pregnant after one reckless night of passion, she's scared he'll take the baby and run. Lucas is demanding, and used to getting his way, but Amy has just the right amount of spark to ignite his fuse, and challenges him each step of the way.

Lucas's father, Joseph, and his brothers Alex and Mark, offer laughter, love, and support. With the love of Lucas's family, who aren't only rich and successful, but also kind and giving, Amy starts to realize that being wealthy doesn't make or break a man, and starts to picture the happily ever after she never believed in for herself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely LOVE it!!! October 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read this whole book before the author added the deleted scenes, and LOVED it!!! I don't know how anyone could put it down! And Im currently re-reading it now and still am not putting it down! The characters in this book are amazing and I am a serious sucker for love stories and love the idea of the guy chasing the girl! The series is amazing along with the author! Anyone that had anything bad to say about this needs to pick up the book, kindle, whatever, and re-read this book because it is truely amazing!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money October 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Okay, I am not sure how someone could say that this book was "so amazing". I had to force myself to finish the darn thing. Lucas was a jerk for 98% of the book and forced the female character, Amy, into everything she did. How can someone think that people want to read a book where the hero says threatening statements to the heroine such as, "if you don't marry me I will take custody of our child and have some other women raise it" and there were plenty more of those statements throughout most of the book. I felt bad for all woman kind! I do not understand how the author, as a woman, could have her character endure such atrocious treatment from a man and have her say how in love she is with the man. It was truly one of the worst books I have ever read. I know it takes a lot to write a book and kudos for the author for writing, but I could never enjoy a "romance" book where the male character treats the woman like complete crap and she acts like he is amazing!! Save your 3 bucks for something else!

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT! October 18, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I read some of the reviews before downloading this book. I downloaded it anyway, even though some of the reviews were negative, and am so glad I did! This was a fantastic book. It's a quick read and was fun to read. I'm so glad I didn't take the advice of some of the readers. Just downloaded the second book and can't wait to start reading it.

The Anderson men! WHEW! And the women who brought them to their knees! There's so much to this family. I enjoyed going thru all the ups and downs with them. That Joseph is too much! You'll laugh and cry with them. But the endings are so wonderful! I can't forget Miss Bree. She has that Anderson blood in her too! HOT HOT HOT!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Really? January 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I agree with the other readers who has given this novel one star. There were so many grammatical errors and the plot was just plain boring. The male character was just a chauvinist pig, and the female character is such a doormat. I'm just glad I picked this book up for free. I'm wondering if the author is from a foreign country, as her usage of the english language doesn't appear to be her first because of the all grammatical errors?

1.0 out of 5 stars AWFUL. **spoiler alert** September 20, 2013

This was an awful book. Just. Plain. Awful. This was a free Kindle book with a 4-star rating. Unbelievable. This book is nothing but one tired cliche after another, with painful dialogue as filler. When I was 13% through this book I wanted to stop reading but I was so angry about the 4-star rating I forced myself to finish so I could post this review. I feel like we should be able to give zero stars to balance all of the shills who are 5-starring this abomination.

If you want to read a "romance" about a poor, orphan, raised in foster care, 24-year-old virgin who was hired as the executive assistant for a billionaire by his father then this is the book for you. Part of her compensation package for her job is a company car (Mercedes hybrid of course), cell phone, furnished luxury apartment, etc. etc. Nauseating.

This is by far the WORST book I have read this year. Amazon has got to get a handle on their review process. This book has over 500 reviews and a 4-star rating. No way. This story is totally amateur hour. Totally painful and awkward to read. Here is an example of the bad writing the reader is subjected to:

"What was she doing there? How could she so casually risk her own safety? He wouldn't wish his worst enemy to reside in the house, or the neighborhood, for that matter. When he saw places like the home she was staying at, it was a humbling experience for him, and he knew he needed to make more time for his volunteer work, because there were so many people who needed help."

Cringeworthy.

"Amy had no way of knowing that the look Lucas was giving his brother was clearly telling Mark that Amy wasn't just his assistant. Lucas was making it clear to him, and all the other men in the room that Amy was his." Awkward explanations like this are indicative of the entire book.
