This book is one of the best out there plain and simple. The depth and breadth of thibs knowledge is very apparent as he delves into important theoretical concepts and explains them so everyone can understand. I was amazed at how comprehensive this book is and I really enjoyed reading it. With the title saying "secrets" I expected it to be full of bullet point style tips but it isn't, its well structured. All the charts graphs and other info is difficult to find elsewhere.

I don;t know why some reviewers complained that it didn't have tips for advanced lifters...I'm pretty advanced having trained and competed for many years as a power lifter with double bodyweight lifts for reps and I picked up plenty of tips. In fact I would warn beginners to stay away from this book. You really do get what you pay for sometimes. This book is pricey but trust me its worth it. I just ordered all his other books. Also if you like thibs stuff have a look at Eric Cressey's "Maximum Strength", another winner.

Bottom line for me, this book stoked my enthusiasm and really gave me new ideas to incorpprate into my training as well as reinforce salient concepts such as using multi joint movements, progression and good form. Pick up this book, you will not be dissapointed.

I've read a lot of books on the subjects, including everything by Pavel Tsatsouline and most of the stuff by Charles Poliquin, Ronnie etc... However after having read this book it made me wish I read this one first. 'Cause if I did, I'd have no reason to go on and waste my time reading other books. Although there were no big secrets for me in this book I was amazed how well structured, clear and consise this book is. It's straight to the point and explatins everything in simple format. Weather you're a bodybuilder, play footbal, basketball, wrestling etc. or work as a coach this Book is a MUST HAVE! For me it's a best spent money so far!

I found Christian Thibaudeau provided new ideas (or ideas not used before by me) for my work out regime. I have started using afew of his training concepts and have noticed a difference within the first week. Its a training book that as a semi experienced lifter ( 5 years) I found it a great reference.

I am not a professional trainer or athlete, however I do train seriously and enjoy reading from those who know their stuff. If you are familiar with the author who writes a lot for T-nation than you know that Thib is brilliant. He lays out sound science and theory that will take much of the guesswork out of program design and does so with humor and simple language.

In a nutshell his stuff works and works well. However the downside is that the chapters at times do not go into enough detail and seem more like a bunch of separate articles place together in one book. But don't let that keep you from getting an edge up buy having this in your library.

this book contains alot of quality information. Don't expect any light "Fitness magazine" articles here. this gentlemen is quite knowledgable and gives alot of science to back up his views. If you have 6-12 months of consistent training experience under your belt then this book is pure gold. If you are a complete beginner I would recommend gaining some lifting time before undertaking this book.

really great, the book is quite simply the bodybuilding periodization not forgetting that for athletes, excellent tables that finally put a little order in a matter a little confused.
