Book Description

The Blades of the Rose Bundle

Warrior

To most people, the realm of magic is the stuff of nursery rhymes and dusty libraries. But for Capt. Gabriel Huntley, it's become quite real and quite dangerous. . .

In Hot Pursuit. . .

The vicious attack Capt. Gabriel Huntley witnesses in a dark alley sparks a chain of events that will take him to the ends of the Earth and beyond--where what is real and what is imagined become terribly confused. And frankly, Huntley couldn't be more pleased. Intrigue, danger, and a beautiful woman in distress--just what he needs.

In Hotter Water. . .

Raised thousands of miles from England, Thalia Burgess is no typical Victorian lady. A good thing, because a proper lady would have no hope of recovering the priceless magical artifact Thalia is after. Huntley's assistance might come in handy, though she has to keep him in the dark. But this distractingly handsome soldier isn't easy to deceive. . .

"Zoe weaves a delightful spell. . .cleverly blending history and magic in new, delightful ways. . ." --Elizabeth Vaughan, USA Today bestselling author

"An innovative and exciting romantic adventure with just the right touch of the paranormal. . ." --Jennifer Ashley, USA Today bestselling author

"Crackles with adventure, a rich sense of place, and terrific characterization." --Mary Jo Putney

Scoundrel

The Blades of the Rose are sworn to protect the sources of magic in the world. But the work is dangerous--and they can't always protect their own. . .

Ready For Action

London Harcourt's father is bent on subjugating the world's magic to British rule. But since London is a mere female, he hasn't bothered to tell her so. He's said only that he's leading a voyage to the Greek isles. No matter, after a smothering marriage and three years of straitlaced widowhood, London jumps at the opportunity--unfortunately, right into the arms of Bennett Day.

Risking It All

Bennett is a ladies' man, when he's not dodging lethal attacks to protect the powers of the ancients from men like London's father. Sometimes, he's a ladies' man even when he is dodging them. But the minute he sees London he knows she will require his full attention. The woman is lovely, brilliant, and the only known speaker of a dialect of ancient Greek that holds the key to calling down the wrath of the gods. Bennett will be risking his life again--but around London, what really worries him is the danger to his heart. . .

Rebel

On the Canadian frontier in 1875, nature is a harsh mistress. But the supernatural can really do you in. . .

A Lone Wolf

Nathan Lesperance is used to being different. He's the first Native attorney in Vancouver, and welcome neither with white society nor his sometime tribe. Not to mention the powerful wildness he's always felt inside him, too dangerous to set free. Then he met Astrid Bramfield and saw his like within her piercing eyes. Now, unless she helps him through the harsh terrain and the harsher unknowns of his true abilities, it could very well get him killed. . .

And The Woman Who Left The Pack

Astrid has traveled this path before. Once she was a Blade of the Rose, protecting the world's magic from unscrupulous men, with her husband by her side. But she's loved and lost, and as a world-class frontierswoman, she knows all about survival. Nathan's searing gaze and long, lean muscles mean nothing but trouble. Yet something has ignited a forgotten flame inside her: a burning need for adventure, for life--and perhaps even for love. . .

Praise for The Blades of the Rose

"The action explodes on page one and the pace never lets up. You're gonna love The Blades of the Rose." --Ann Aguirre, national bestselling author of Hell Fire on Rebel

He protects the world's magic--with his science. But even the best scientists can fall prey to the right chemistry. . .<...

I have really loved reading Zoe Archer's Blades of the Rose. Her series is a wonderful combination of adventure and romance, sprinkled with a touch of magic and a bit of sex, set in gorgeous locales in a time gone by. The overarching theme involves the noble members of the Blades of the Rose finding love even as they fight to prevent the elitist Heirs of Albion who are intent on stealing magical artifacts and accumulating enough magical power to install England as the world's supreme power.

In Warrior (Blades of the Rose #1), Thalia, a sturdy yet beautiful Englishwomen living in Mongolia, takes on her first mission as a Blade and ends up with an unwanted protector in the honorable, heroic, commanding, capable and virile Captain Gabriel Huntley - gotta love those manly men. I loved the initial conflict between the independent Thalia and the protective Gabriel and there were enough contests and battles, mixed in with the glimpses of far-off Mongolia and its people, to keep the story moving while still allowing time for a slowly building yet steamy relationship for Thalia and Gabriel.

Scoundrel (The Blades of the Rose #2) stars the oh-so gorgeous Blade Bennett day. Bennett is a rake, but an appealing one because he truly loves the women who flock to his bed. But Bennett's views on love undergo a change once he meets London Harcourt, daughter of the leader of his enemies. London's joy at experiencing all that life has to offer, as she for the first time tastes freedom having lived an extremely restricted life, captures Bennett's interest.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too much sex for me September 17, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I read a sample of the first book and was intrigued so I bought the whole set since it was cheaper. About 3 pages from where the sample ended it stated to get graphic. In almost every page after that it was taking about his erection or her breasts or them wishing they could have sex. I had to stop reading because sex became more prevalent than the story line. I would not recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth every penny February 14, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
So glad I went for the bundle - all four stories are great fun. They follow the same basic plot, but the characters and settings are thoughtfully imagined and different enough to be really entertaining. Love Archer's smart, capable heroines - and the heroes are swoonworthy too. The books have an old time Saturday matinee Indiana Jones kind of vibe, though I guess they are late-Victorian steampunk in feeling too. Highly recommended for those into historical romance/adventure/paranormal/strong heroines/straightforward heroes.

Only problem with the bundle is that I read them too fast!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great stories, a little too much emphasis on sex September 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
These were basically terrific, well-written romantic fantasy thrillers, and I would love to be able to give them 5 stars, but I have a few quibbles. First, the villains were irredeemably EVIL through and through, with no redeeming qualities whatsoever, while the band of heroes is universally noble and self-sacrificing. And at the risk of sounding like a prude (which I'm not) - while for the most part the heavy emphasis on irresistable sexual attraction, soul-mate style, between the main characters in each book is not that unusual for a romance novel, their almost total (and constant) focus on sex is a bit much. And occasionally the romantic interludes get a little ridiculous, like when the two lovers are in desperate flight from murderous villains who are right on their heels, and they stop in plain sight to gaze into each other's eyes, kiss and murmer numerous endearments. That kind of made me want to scream "Run, you idiots!" Or at the very least, HIDE! All that quibbling aside, these are exciting stories, real page-turners, and I did enjoy them very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wild Ride into adventure and sensual romance! March 3, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought the whole bundle so that I could read each book in succession to get the full impact...and whew...I needed an oscillating fan and a wet cold cloth...this series is Hot Hot Hot!!! Adventure and mystery...hot erotic romance and deadly assassins...magical beings and sources that question the bravest of minds and defeat the blackest of evil sorcerers....and you come pretty close to imagining what Zoe Archer's world of the Blades of the Rose series and it's impressive cast of characters and villains is about. I started out on page one book one and could not stop...read all 4 books in less than 2 days...blurry eyed I was smiling at the last page...wanting more from the very talented Zoe Archer...this author is simply fabulous. I highly recommend the whole series...and look forward to future books by Ms. Archer.
