5.0 out of 5 stars great dad&son project September 18, 2010
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Bought this to do as a project with my 5-yr old son, thinking that it should be within my technical abilities, and thankfully it was :)
The packaging is great, everything contained neatly in a hardcover book with resealable parts storage. The instructions are very clear yet fun, thanks to the comics style.
Putting everything together was easy and fun. Reading through the book, assembling two bugs, and explaining basic electricity concepts took about an hour, with a lot of easier steps that even a 5-yr-old can help with. I think a 10-yr-old could easily do it by himself/herself.
My son was thrilled with the result, see attached customer pic. He made the black with red eyes scary vampire one, and I made the not-scary-at-all orange looser who apparently is gonna get its butt kicked by the vampire one, or so he says...

5.0 out of 5 stars A great present for a curious kid October 31, 2010
By Greenbi
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
Hi,
I am the lucky parent of a kid who is very curious and just loves to create things. Recently he read about diodes, and at school he was building electrical circuits. When I read the description of the Blinkybugs I just knew it would be a perfect fit for him. I was right. My eleven year old spend two days absorbed in the kit and was very proud of his creations. He then went on to explain to me in great details how diode's physical design leads to their specific colour. A great gift for a young mind with scientific curiosity.
Many thanks,
Greenbi
