Blogging is going to be around for a while. So if you're going to join the blogging world, save yourself some time and pick up this useful guide.

Don't let the title fool you. This is no lightweight little motivational book. Nor is it a re-hash of shopworn tips and tricks. Instead, it's a comprehensive guide for bloggers at any level.

Experienced bloggers will pick up new ideas - little things they may have missed along the way. I had several "Hm, I didn't know that" moments as I read it. New bloggers will get off to a faster start and save hours of heartache if they approach blogging with this systematic guide.

My suggestion is to skim through it once, just to become familiar with the contents. Then study the parts that are most helpful to you, absorb the fine points, and implement the lessons learned.

But after that, don't put it away in storage; make it a resource you grab daily.

I hope I'm not being unfair by giving this a rating of 3 despite how easy I felt it was to read. There were information that I found lacked more attention like Pinterest which I use more often than any other network and the index did not provide as much of a guide about it as I hoped. Overall this is truly the easiest and best guide for blogging you could find.

The authors gave thorough and very descriptive details about how to do some very important things that you have some trouble with around the internet. The step by step guide from what the blogger needs to do from the beginning until the end is very useful.

Some of the points discussed are things you can't find on the net or you have to figure out yourself if you were to research the information. This book gives you EVERYTHING so that you don't have to do tons of other research. Great job and something I definitely recommend!

If you are serious about creating a blog to generate income... this book is a great place to start. It contains tons of information - in an easy to understand way, which is perfect for those that:
*are thinking about starting their own blog
*have recently dived into the blogging world and have lots of questions
*have been blogging for a while and wonder if perhaps they can turn their hobby into a job

If you are confused (or simply have no idea what these things even are and why they should even matter to you) this book will explain things like:
*increasing traffic and ways to measure it
*search engine optimization
*promotional strategies
*affiliate marketing
*product reviews
*hosting giveaways
*legal stuff like copyrights, privacy issues and disclaimers

Something else bloggers will appreciate about this book is all the great links included. It provides a ton of great resources about many different blogging issues.

The cover of the book, leaves something to be desired. I like the blue colour but find the actual image to be unappealing. Not only does the image have a `cluttered' look to it but there is way too much information included. The title would have been better if they had kept it to The Blogger's Survival Guide and included the names of the two authors. That's it! I don't want, nor need to know all the job titles and T.V. shows that the person who wrote the foreword has ever had!

I was also a little confused about the `subtitle' - Tips and Tricks for Parent Bloggers, Wordsmiths and Enthusiasts. This book is certainly NOT limited to parents and I'm not sure why they would want to limit themselves in this way. The Blogger's Survival Guide would be useful to any genre of blogger!

In the recent years, blogging has become one of the most powerful platforms and tools by which people from all backgrounds are able to have a voice on the web and increase their reach. People who would otherwise have had no online visibility, let alone any sort of marketing or economic power, find themselves able to influence corporations, advertisers, publishers and alike. In a way, blogging has become, in my opinion, a sort of leveling tool to some degree, especially in terms of the online world, which is why more and more people have become thoroughly interested and engaged in it.

The Blogger's Survival Guide is THE material to read for any blogger, new or old. Whether you are just toying with the idea of starting a blog site, or you've been doing this for quite a while now but feel you need to take it to another level, this guide will give you straightforward information on how to do it right and have more success! I wish I had this book when I first started and agonized whether I should go for Blogger or Wordpress! The authors discussed this adequately and objectively, which truly makes it easy for anyone, instead of spending hours online reading a gazillion opinions from users of both platforms. The authors also walk you through very basic but often messed-up and neglected aspects to blogging which are blog design, naming your blog, and choosing which genre you want to belong to, to name a few. A lot of bloggers take those for granted but if you start without focusing on those, you might just regret it later on and things would be harder to undo. One topic I would've wanted more discussion on in the book is the use of copyrighted images.
