From Booklist

CPA Gus Hollister should have listened to his grandmother, Rose Blossom. Elaine, the woman he married, is a world-class gold digger. He comes home from work to find that Elaine has taken his beloved Porsche, his bank accounts, and his house. Gus has a few suitcases, an old, beat-up Volkswagen, and Wilson, the dog. Homeless, he retreats to his grandmother’s house, where he grew up. But the woman who raised him turns him away, saying that since he deliberately ignored her warnings, she isn’t going to bail him out. It’s a long, tricky road to redemption as Gus tries to prove to his grandmother and her stubborn twin sisters that he’s a wiser man, and from here on out, he’ll pay heed to their suggestions. With its cast of feisty seniors and spunky, resourceful women, Michael’s latest is sure to capture the hearts of its readers, even while tickling their funny bones. --Shelley Mosley

The Blossom Sisters by Fern Michaels
What I like about this book is it's about a male. He was married, and now she's taken everything from him in the divorce.
He relies on his friend and he comes through for him many times over. He attempts to have his grandmother help him but she and his aunts want no part of him. He had chosen his wife over them.
He has to prove himself now to them. Love the work they do at the farm and who the workers are-so refreshing to learn of their career choices.
They do allow Gus to help them in their endeavor and he is on probation. Lots of lawyers and PI's and surveillance from both sides to see who will get what in the settlement.
Lots of secrets up in the attic and things fall apart even more. Everything falls into place to solve the mysteries...
Easy to keep track of the characters and I can't wait for another in the series so I can catch up with them further.

Fern Michaels has another best seller with this one. Her characters come alive and make you feel like you know them all. I absolutely love this book and the way it bridged the generation gap in such a positive way. I would love to see this book made into a movie and am already waiting eagerly for Fern's next book. Grab this one as fast as you can.

Huge Fern Michaels fan but not of this book. I'll spare you synopsis as you can read it. The book is about family however I can't conceive of Any grandmother treating their grandchild how Rose treated Gus when he came to her no matter how long it had been since they saw/spoke with each other. I also didn't like how the aunts treated him either. The wife's story with voodoo really had no part in the story because Ms. Michaels didn't tie it into the story other then she was a customer. Now if they had figured out she was a customer & exacted some revenge then I could see. Also the work that the lawyer & investigater did was left at as a loose end. The book felt rushed, had no direction and that thing were thrown in at the end to try and wrap things up. Highly disappointing. It received three stars because its Ms. Michaels and the secondary characters (Barney and the senior citizens) were funny.

Almost all of us have had to make choices each and every day of our lives and some work out fine while others leave us to wonder how we could have be so blindsided.

Gus Hollister has lived with his spunky grandmother, Rose since his parents who did not want to take care of a child abandoned him.
His years growing up on the farm were full of fun and happiness thanks to Grandma Rose and her two twin sisters Iris and Violet.

When Gus falls head over heels for Elaine he finds himself alone and abandoned by his only family, as they want no part of the "gold digger."
Being young and in love (or so he is led to believe by his conniving wife he feels that is all he needs in life).

Suddenly his world is about to crumble when Elaine decides she wants a divorce and because he listened to "his heart" and not his mind he had included her on the deed to his beautiful and expensive house, which his grandmother had purchased for him.

A battle is about to begin and even his childhood best friend Barney had advised him to not marry Elaine but again he listened to nobody and is now about to pay the price.

A bitter divorce is in the process and when he tries to confront his
"family" he is turned away which is breaking his Grandmother and Aunts hearts but he is going to learn a lesson even if it is the hard way.

Once you start this book you won't be able to put it down, as the characters are so real you will feel compassion for what Gus has to do to be forgiven by his family. Only, a great storyteller like Ms. Michaels could write this heartwarming story.

Fern is another of my favorite arthors but I have to say this one was a disappointment. Hard to get into and hold my attention, I usually find it hard to put her books down, but this one was hard to pick up and finish.

Not one of her best. Her stories are usually romantic with the usual girl meets boy, etc. Most of the time her characters are believable and have some depth. Not liking any of the characters this time. They are all pretty shallow

It was ok, did not have anything that interesting in it. Would like to have a better ending. Did not have a surprising ending.

I am not interested in witchcraft and this book goes into it more than I would like. I wish the author would go back to writing books like her Vegas, Texas and Kentucky series.
