My grandson loved this as the short before an animated feature at the theater so I purchased it for him to view on my Kindle Fire. His attention is captivated by the colorful umbrellas and their personalities as their story unfolds for us. He watches then tells me what is happening to the umbrellas. It's just the right length, too. Any shorter and we wouldn't get the full story. Any longer and it might not hold the attention of the viewer. Delightful short film!

I saw this short when we watched Monsters U at the theater and couldn't wait for it to come out. It's just a classic, cute love story about 2 umbrellas with a Pixar twist.

This would be a cute little film to use in the classroom to discuss personfication. A lot of my friends find it corny but I wanted to watch more of it. The deal with the umbrella kinda reminded me of "How I Met Your Mother" episodes where the yellow umbrella was featured.

This animated short from Pixar is yet another innovative and touching story told with the magic of CGI. Unlike previous installments in their library, the visual style is more photorealistic. This is a difficult aesthetic in animation to successfully achieve while maintaining an emotional connection with the audience. However, Pixar has achieved both goals, telling the story of two umbrellas that meet along the busy streets of a densely populated city. The atmosphere and attention to detail is gorgeous and engrossing. In addition to the umbrellas, there is a subtle subplot that moves in tandem with theirs. Perhaps this is an indication of the style that a future Pixar movie may utilize? I think that would be a joy to see!

The Blue Umbrella is an imaginative love story. I came upon it by chance and immediately wanted to share it with my family and friends. Love found, then lost, then found again. Uplifting,( please forgive the pun), and surd to please young and not so young.

Very well done! This is a cute short. I like the thought that was put into this. Romantic without being sappy and the kids enjoy it!
