Book Description

January 3, 2012
Nationally renowned body language expert Tonya Reiman turns her attention to romance—explaining how to read the signals of your date, your mate, or that cutie across the bar—and never get rejected again!

Attraction : It’s biological. It’s physical. It’s chemical. It’s mental. But it doesn’t end there. It’s also: Detectable. Manageable. Maneuverable.

In The Body Language of Dating, Tonya Reiman tackles the question of whether human attraction and seduction have changed over millions of years, drawing lines of flirting symmetry that span millennia, cultures, species, and continents. By looking at the evolutionary purpose of every part of the male and the female body, The Body Language of Dating chronicles the evolution of each major human bodily feature—why it is considered attractive or unattractive, good for longevity or detrimental to the gene pool, indicative of sexual success or failure.

Reiman crumples the timeline that separates us from our ancient ancestors to ask, “What has never changed? What attracts opposite sexes to one another, why does it work, and how has it contributed to the longevity of our species?” The Body Language of Dating provides the tools needed for success in today’s dating scenarios, offering practical tactics for seduction, conversation, connection, and enduring romance.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"[Tonya Reiman has] been deconstructing what's REALLY going on behind the world's most famous faces on TV with me for years. She's great at that, so imagine how good she is at seeing past the frozen smiles and darting eyes of regular folks like you and me. She has an innate talent, helping us all see what the guy or girl across the table is really thinking!" --Juliet Huddy, FOX News

5.0 out of 5 stars Another "10" in Body Language Advice...! February 7, 2012
Format:Hardcover
Tonya has raised the bar in Body Language Advice. This time for Dating. She has a sense for what works and doesn't work like no other. I have repaired my own body gestures after reading this book. I am also way more aware to what is going on now with other people and their movements. I can read them much better now after recognizing body movements and tells from her advice... Tonya is the "Best in the Business" for straight talking body language advice. This time it is for Dating...! Highly Recommend..!!! JE

3.0 out of 5 stars A Man's Perspective December 17, 2012
By bennash
Format:Hardcover
The book is written mainly for women, but I'm a man who was curious enough about women's perspectives and thoughts, so I gave it a read.

I've read both of Tonya's 2 Body Language Books: "The Power of Body Language" and "The Yes Factor". I gave them both 5/5 stars. This one however I gave 3 stars. It's very lengthy (close to 400 pages), and drags at times (in the middle and right at the beginning). I think you could compact the whole book into a few chapters with just the key elements and have a great book!

There is some valuable insight and tips to learn for both men and women. However, I don't think I'd read it again, except for what I highlighted.

This book has definitely shed some new light to me on clothing, color, attraction, and the way men and women are wired differently.

Thank you Tonya.

Ok, so just so you know, this is a biased review. I had the privilege to meet Tonya Reiman at a conference seminar in Las Vegas, and I am huge fan of this brilliant lady who is such a body language reading expert of politicians and celebrities alike.

I own both of Tonya's 2 earlier Body Language books The Yes Factor and The Power of Body Language and love them both for empowering men and women in the business world to master their body language and read the body language signals of others for greater career advancement.

In "The Body Language of Dating" Reiman delivers 20 chapters of Body Language information for singles to use to better understand the whole process of attraction and mate selection. "The Body Language of Dating" is complete with an abundance of photos to illustrate and provide many examples to help us to read others body language signals as well as master our own body language flirting signs we send to others. If you are single and in the dating world, you will definitely want to pick up a copy of Reiman's excellent book and study all she has to teach here.

Many readers will already be familiar with Tonya Reiman and her work as a Political Body Language Reading expert consultant to FOX NEWS on the prestigious "O'Reilly Factor" television news show.

What you might not realize with watching her brilliant and insightful body language reading signals and deciphering the secrets of body language reading of politicos (especially during this Presidential Election year with all of the Debate Nights), is that Ms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book to have August 15, 2012
By Kate L.
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love this book. It definitely provide some very useful insight and gave me some very valuable tools. I feel like some questions I have had for years have been finally answered.

I also like that unlike in other books I've read, she acknowledges that what she is saying applies in most cases, but that there are exceptions. For example, in the chapter where she talks about differences between the sexes, she readily acknowledges that she is covering the ninetieth percentiles, the majorities ...the typical male and typical female brain. The books I have read in the past that discuss differences between sexes, fail to mention this piece of information, which is unfortunate since I quickly realize that most of what being mentioned does not describe me at all (or some of my friends either) and any credibility in what the author has to say is lost. Had the other authors acknowledged this limitation, it would have made a big difference.

Tonya also provides a review at the end of the book, in which she summarizes what she covers in the book, in some easy ready to implement steps. Again, very useful.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very disappointing December 15, 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I had seen Tonya Reiman on a TV show on Fox and always enjoyed her observations with the show's commentator. However, her books leave a lot to be desired. I was terribly disappointed in her use of vulgar words and terminology. Her examples of social settings were also, in my opinion, below the level of a professional individual. She also displayed her personal preference in politics towards the opposite camp in a disparaging way, which I found not to be respectful or helpful with the subject matter of body language. Her smile is beautiful, but her writing is disappointing. I'm really sorry to have invested in three of her books. Wish I could get my money back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and interesting April 2, 2012
Format:Hardcover
This book takes some deep and serious research and presents it in a fun package. It answered questions I never knew I had about myself and about the opposite sex.
