4.0 out of 5 stars Be careful what you wish for...you just might get it April 26, 2012

Redditor here. As creepy as it sounds, I found this story to be a fun read. It's not perfect, but it flows well and I like how her envy and jealousy came back to haunt the main character. It has a good, simple message that doesn't come across as preachy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Modern Tell-Tale Heart with a twist! March 12, 2013

I downloaded this and wow. Think Tell-Tale heart with a twist! A little stiff in the writing at some points but this author makes it up with his imagination. I most definitely am looking forward to this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not brilliant April 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
An interesting plot idea which was worked well. I loved its pace - the tale fairly hurtles along, dragging you with it.

Now the minuses, and maybe you'll disagree with me.

As a style issue, I don't think beginning with such a huge block of dialogue is a good idea. We've no idea who is talking, where they are or what they're really talking about. I think a couple of interchanges and some explanatory text would be less hard work for the reader.

I also think the dialogue is a bit stilted. Its use to describe each situation is valid and colourful but I don't find it realistic (given what they are supposedly talking about).

It's well worth a download and I'd certainly sign up to read more from this author but I'd urge him to take on board the comments I've made.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed the heck out of this. April 20, 2012

A fun, fast, and creepy read. The author gives you realistic characters and realistic dialogue along with an (appropriately for the genre) unbelievable situation that kept me reading despite several social media tabs being open and beckoning along with the Kindle cloud reader on my PC. Good job!

It was pretty good, though at times it was a little sloppy. Overall I would refer to my friends. Good job.

More About the Author

I was born in a small town in Texas and I haven't completely recovered from that. When I'm not stuck at the day job I like to read just about everything, write horror books and short stories, plan for the zombie apocalypse, and try new beers. Sometimes I manage to do all those things at the same time.
