Scent Name: Satsuma
First, some comments on Body Shop's body butters... they are fantastic and the best I have tried from any store. Unlike other butters which literally look like Crisco in a jar, Body Shop's butters are soft and not greasy at all . They go on effortlessly, melting into your skin, and it doesn't take 10 minutes to rub them in, something that has always irritated me with other companies' butters. The moisturizing ability is wonderful and, for me, lasts unless I wash it off.

Now, some comments on the Satsuma scent... my absolute favorite from Body Shop. Fresh, pure juicy scent of tangerines/oranges. Vibrant and uplifting. This is one of the few scents I have that makes me happy every time I put it on, which is why I find myself reaching for it every day. I would buy this body butter again and again.

Scent Name: Olive
I bought this on a whim a year ago and it's still one of my all-time favorite products. I use it daily, and a little goes a long way - I'm not even halfway done with the container. Unlike other body butters, this one absorbs fast, and isn't greasy - it's just smooth, and has a subtle, fantastic smell. It doesn't smell like olives per se - just something faintly perfect.

This Body Shop body cream smells great! The smell lingers all day long from your body and it is not too rich or oily. It reminds you of a nice summery day!

Scent Name: Hemp
My husband swears by The Body Shop's line of hemp products to help keep his super super super dry skin under control. This Hemp Body Butter isn't always part of his daily routine, but particularly during the winter months it often is. Like many body butters, this one contains both cocoa and shea butters (which is all Fair Trade). It also has Babassu oil, which I can't claim to know much about, but is supposed to be a good, light, non-pore-clogging moisturizer. The hemp seed oil in this product is what really sets it apart. Like another reviewer noted, the hemp seed oil is really good for helping skin repair itself (either for disease-based problems like psoriasis or environmentally caused damage, like from dry air) and absorb moisture more effectively thanks to its incredibly high concentration of fatty acids.

The only drawback about this product is a subjective one: its scent. Many people don't mind the scent of these hemp creams, but some do. I'm not a huge fan of the smell, which is sort of grassy and herbal but does sometimes have that yeasty smell of stale beer. The good thing is that the strength of the fragrance diminishes rapidly with time. If you're the one using the product, you'll still be able to smell it on yourself, but it's not overpowering for someone sitting next to you. It's a very unisex fragrance regardless, and if you normally use cologne or perfume it would cover the smell of the Body Butter easily.

Overall, I do recommend this product. It's a thick, uber-moisturizer that can help your skin "help itself" if you use it regularly. It would be best for those with dry skin, since oily or normal skin types would probably find it to be too much unless used very infrequently. It is probably one of the better body butters out there for real skin therapy and improvement, going on creamily and soaking in to leave non-greasy, satisfied skin in its wake.

I tired this in the store, and it left my hands feeling silky smooth and smelling nice hours later!! The floral scent is light, not too sweet or overpowering.

Scent Name: Vitamin E
The Body Shop's Vitamin E Body Butter is the product that got me hooked on their butters in general. The Vitamin E butter is lovely, rich and astoundingly moisturizing for dry skin. It has Vitamin E, obviously, which is excellent for helping your skin repair itself (from scars or just daily environmental pollution) and provides antioxidants. It also has a mix of shea and cocoa butter, which go on smooth and last a long time, as well as soy oil, which also works to help skin health. The scent is floral and based on tea roses, so it's not meant to be a unisex product (I don't think it is at least), but it's not a terribly strong scent regardless. My father had knee surgery and a rather tight, itchy scar for a long time afterward and was happy to use this butter, rose fragrance and all (though admittedly he switched to another of their products after getting the results he wanted and finishing his supply of this one).

Like other reviewers, I like to drench my skin with this body butter at night to let it soak in while I sleep. I find the rosy perfume of the body butter relaxing. I tend to have dry and sensitive skin, and it's hard to find fragranced products that can address both aspects; this one definitely does. I don't find this product to be too heavy to use during the day either, particularly during the winter when forced heating can leave my skin even drier than usual. For "normal" skin it may be too much for a daily moisturizer, but would undoubtedly be a lovely nightly or after-shower lotion. I'm also a big fan of the packaging of this product (and of all The Body Shop's butters, by extension).
