Do not be misled by the title
on October 27, 2012
According to the little progress bar on my Kindle, I have read 13% of this book. Perhaps that's not enough on which to base a review, but I doubt I'll read much more. Here's why: For a book with 'literacy' in the title, it borders on the illiterate. For example, Mr. Martinez confuses 'rein' and 'reign' -- in a sentence criticizing announcers' poor English! And he is fond of hyperbole, too frequently calling somebody the undisputed greatest (baserunner/hitter/manager/pitcher)of all time, or insisting that a record will surely stand forever. I rarely give up on a book, but this one just doesn't cut it.
