Everyone should read this book for themselves. It's not an easy read, though it's language is similar to that of the Bible in how things are worded. There is some Bible repeats in the Book of Mormon, mostly from people quoting Old Testament passages (the record begins around 600 BC, around the time of Jeremiah, so they had access to the writings of previous prophets with them) and Jesus giving the people of the Americas similar sermons during his visit to the ones He gave in Jerusalem during His ministry. In addition to the information about Jesus Christ and the greater insight into His character and nature you'll find in this book, it covers some of the most concrete questions of humanity as well as some practical, everyday topics such as parenting, bullies, relationships, prayer, faith, etc, with often more clarity than you find in the Bible, where some passages leave a lot to interpretation (sorry for the run-on). If you have ever wondered where we came from before we were born, the purpose of life, where we go/what happens when we die, what Jesus Christ is like, etc. or have questions about the creation, the fall, prophets, baptism (who, why, ages, how), repentance/forgiveness, the atonement (what is covered/what's not, purpose, how to "access" it), the gathering of Israel, history of America before the pilgrims, tragedy (why it happens, how to cope, etc), faith vs. knowledge, justice vs. mercy, pride vs. humility, charity, Satan, the Second Coming of Jesus, etc...this book covers all of these topics and more. It's pretty remarkable. So, if you're curious to know what all the fuss is about or have any questions about any of these topics, or just want to learn more about what Mormons believe, then go ahead and give this book a read. You won't regret it.

I lived most of my life as a profligate, living by the rules of addiction, debauchery and godlessness. Until I had a spiritual revelation, and realized that the empty pleasures that my life revolved around were the same vices that made me miserable in the first place. I began to reconnect with my long-dormant spirituality; I tried to reconnect with Catholicism (the religion I was raised on) but there was something missing, something that just didn't click with me. The same feeling of "incompleteness" that caused me to leave the church was still there. I began to research other faiths, but The LDS church was the one that most interested me, being Christian and at the same time something else. I was skeptical at first, like most people, and there's an incredible amount of hatred and false information against Mormonism on the Internet.

In the end, I decided to try it for myself. Heck, the book was pretty cheap too. If you read this book with an open heart and mind, pray to God faithfully and wait for an answer, then you may find yourself becoming overwhelmed by that "war am fuzzy feeling", which is the Holy Spirit embracing you.

If not, well, the book itself is an interesting read, cheap, and a nice insight into the belief system of this uniquely American faith.

The Book of Mormon is the best book out of all the books I've ever read and is the key stone of our religion. Even though I have been an unshakeable Mormon my whole life, I have read every major world religion book and all the philosophies I can. I have gotten good from many sources and try to learn all I can from others. In regards to the Book of Mormon though, even in imagining if if weren't true it would still be the best book I've ever read. I know that it's another testament of Jesus Christ and that He was God of the whole earth not just in creating it but also in going throughout it. History speaks of this truth. The Native Americans are made up of hundreds of tribes with different languages, cultures and traditions. Many of them have a legend of a great white God who came and is to come again. Don't you think that Jesus would visit a continent full of millions and not leave them in darkness for centuries? Jesus according to the Book of Mormon is the key stone to all of our lives because of His global/universal/infinite influence. Because of this, in our religion, we believe that Jesus Christ should be the key stone to our lives and that no matter what your beliefs are, if you read about Christ in the Book of Mormon, you'll get something good from it. I also know that if you read this book and do what it encourages you to do at the end which is to pray and find out if it is true or not, that you'll have a feeling that it's true and that you'll know it's true by the confirmation of the Spirit. In feeling His Spirit, I know you'll feel God's love and want to share His love with others. It's something you have to find out for yourself though. Our religion doesn't teach you to believe what you read but to ask about what you read (Search, ponder and pray) so that you'll have an answer you can believe. In asking God if this book was true, I have had that confirmed to me many times. It's been a confirmation that occurs when I live my life the way that I should.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? It's the keystone of our religion.
Buy this book, read it from cover to cover, and then pray about it, asking God if it's true.

The Book of Mormon can change your life like The Holy Bible. The Book of Mormon starts out telling the story of a family and proceeds to detail a history of nations and problems of society. One reading this book can see the same problems today in our own society. The book shows us how we can be rewarded with blessings from God by adhering to His commandments. There is overwhelming evidence that nations who remember God, prosper. The book is filled with inspirational people highly favored of God to those who deny His existence. It highlights those who make significant change in their life and tells us how we can do the same. Your life can be filled with hope, promised blessings, and truth if you read this book.
