More About the Author

AAD DEBUT AUTHOR OF THE YEAR NOMINEE...

My name is Deena Remiel, and I am an author of paranormal romance, urban and dark fantasy, and romantic suspense. I also teach language arts to middle schoolers. I belong to RWA national and the Desert Rose Chapter of RWA, where there are outstanding people writing fabulous stories.

I grew up in Philadelphia, home of the most amazing cheese steaks, soft pretzels, oh and the Liberty Bell. My husband and I began our own family in New Jersey, and just a few years ago, Arizona called to my spirit and tempted my husband with much better weather! We moved our family, and the rest is history, or the present, as the case may be!

These are a few of my favorite things: writing and reading of course, chocolate, music with lyrics or melodies that speak to me, soaking baths, singing in the shower, dancing with my buds, romantic dancing with my hubbie, scrapbooking, watching my girls enjoy what they love to do, and laughing at jokes. Hurricane Sandy was just starting to hit us with her outskirt mayhem and we decided to shut down our computers, TV's, and any unnecessary electronics before we lost power. I decided I was going to curl up in bed and start a book. This was around 8 pm EST. Let me tell you that I got so wrapped up in this book that I did not shut my Fire off until 12:30 am after finishing it.

I did find a FEW, VERY few spots of missing words, or to me what felt like she meant for a word to be there. You know how we all get typing so fast our fingers skip a word our brain is picturing. But those did NOT detract from the story at all!

The book waitress earned a nice tip in my mind, she left me eagerly wanting a taste of the Devil Du Jour!!!

Nicely done!!

Deena is serving up some evil deliciousness with The Book Waitress. I am loving how Camille and Derek interact with each other in the beginning. Fumbling geniuses when it comes to the opposite sex. They crack me up! The ending shocks you! The villain is fantastically evil! In summary: Deena serves up a tale that has you laughing, actually takes your breath away and for a side of desert she delivers that amazing touch of evilness that has you wondering how Camille can ever get over it.

There is an interview with Deena on my blog (readingwithbakingoddesses.blogspot.com) where you learn a little bit more about Camille, Derek, and some of what happens in the book. There are scenes in this book that literally have you holding your breath until your lungs burn along with Camille.

Keep Reading Goddesses

AWESOME BOOK, HAD ME HOOKED FROM START TO END. I ENJOYED THAT'S EASY TO READ AND TO FOLLOW. CAMILLE AND DEREK COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER PERFECTLY, I LOVE THEM TOGETHER.. SHE'S A LIBRARIAN AND LOVES HER BOOKS BUT IS AWKWARD AROUND PEOPLE, AND DEREK CAN NEVER SAY THE RIGHT THING ..

IF YOU LIKE PARANORMAL BOOKS I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS ONE, THERE IS DEFINITELY A THRILLING RIDE IN THIS STORY! DID NOT EXPECT THE ENDING THAT IT HAD BUT WILL WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE IN THE SERIES..

CAMILLE AND DEREK WILL HAVE TO TRUST EACH OTHER TO BATTLE EVIL! WHO WILL WIN THIS BATTLE ... LET'S WAIT FOR THE NEXT IN THE SERIES YEY, HOPEFULLY NOT LONG..

IT'S A SHORT STORY BUT WILL HAVE YOU HOOKED FROM BEGINNING TO END! I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK. THANK YOU DEENA YOU ARE WONDERFUL :)

*WARNING* The Book Waitress is nothing like Deena's previous series; The Brethren, so, if you're expecting more sexy angels here, you will be sorely disappointed. I know, I know, I love those men too. Now, don't pout and run away mad. Instead, get your evil butt kicking mojo rising and get ready for a new heroine and different kind fight against a very old adversary.
So, you may be asking then, just what will you get with The Book Waitress?
Well let me tell you... An exciting and frightening trip into the mysterious and sometimes shocking world of the occult.
You get to travel with Camille to Shelter Island. A town full of dark and deadly secrets...a town apparently and unbeknownst to it's residence, controlled by a disciple of Satan... (Satan??? Oh, yes...this story is very very dark.) A town where evil runs rampant and no one questions the bizarre or unexplained.
That is until our sweet, sarcastic and slightly agoraphobic librarian steps off the ferry to fill in temporarily at the Shelter Island Library. Cammy is a smart cookie. She follows her gut...which is telling her to RUN before she even approaches her destination, but it's only for a short while, right? Once she's on the island, she finds her temporary home is quite charming and settles in quickly. Next stop, her home away from (her newly rented) home, the Shelter Island Library. A librarian's dream. A place she describes as having a historic pedigree. A place that houses books found nowhere else.
A place where... she's immediately confronted with oddities and antics of her colleagues and the libraries other inhabitants in the form of ghosts. Are these spirits trying to scare her or help her discover what's really going on? Well, I'm certainly not going to give that away.

This book was completely out of normal genre but since I loved Deena Remiels Brethren Series I decided I would give a try. Oh my lord I was hooked and stayed up all night so I could finish. Very intense and suspenseful plot, I never saw the ending coming it threw me for a loop. Eegerly anticipating the next book in this series, please don't make us wait to long.

Camille likes books, but she could do without people. Unfortunately, librarians have to deal with people as much as they do books. But when she's transferred to the Shelter Island Library, even the books are hard to get along with. Yes, there's a couple spirits who've taken up residence in the circulation department.

Derek might look like a green-eyed Greek god but he sure doesn't know the right thing to say around women. Luckily, Camille is more impressed with his investigation skills than his ability to deliver a smooth line. He's scouring past issues of the local newspapers to find leads to missing children--one every six years. He suspects a satanic cult.

Can Derek and Camille stop the demons and save the six-year-old marked for sacrifice? This book builds to a heart-pounding denouement. Don't miss the wild ride with Camille and Derek as evil shows up in the strangest places and in unexpected forms.

The Book Waitress is the first in a series and I look forward to reading the rest. And soon!
