I read your book, BORN AGAIN DIABETIC, on Sunday afternoon while I was taking some time off from taking care of sick relatives. I initially thought that I would only read a few pages but once I started reading, I just could not stop. I found it fascinating and extremely informative. Moreover, I found it quite entertaining because your unique and pleasant sense of humor came through, it turned what would normally be a dry and serious subject, into an entertaining book. This publication is probably the best written and the most informative book that I have ever read. And, I have read many books over the years on the subject. Any wise person knows that: knowledge is powerful and you certainly have the expertise to empower others in their struggle with this chronic disease. Diabetes is a very serious matter and I think that many diabetics get to the point to where we feel overwhelmed by the many factors associated with its management and dealing with the many other related effects from the condition. About the Author: Type-1 diabetic, diabetes educator, author, Lee walks in your shoes every day. He writes from both clinical and personal experience with honesty, compassion, and humor. He works full time running the diabetes program for a rural nonprofit clinic in one of the poorest counties in the United States, and is a tireless advocate for diabetes care and awareness. He manages a staff of 8, and has pioneered the Diabetes Peer Educator model, using volunteer diabetics to help other patients in ongoing free diabetes education programs. He is the author of the long-running internet blog LifeAfterDx which chronicles his experiences with the early continuous glucose monitoring technology, his thoughts on diabetes and health politics, and his daily life living with diabetes. He jokes that he wants his tombstone to read: Loving husband, devoted father, artist, educator, author. Type-1 Diabetic. Yes, he wants diabetes on his tombstone so that his great-great-grandchildren can read it and say, Wow. Poor great-great-grandpa. He actually had to live with diabetes. I m sure glad they cured it.
