These stories from Gertrude Chandler Warner are a wonderful escape into a child right dream world. My children (7 and 8 years old) love them and listen to them over and over again.

I really do recommend them as a great alternative to too much TV and video games. The beautiful thing is that the children can play with something, like model magic, and listen to the stories.

Try it!!!

My kids are 6 and 7 and very discerning about the readers voice, the story line, the adjectives used, etc. They both were entranced with these stories. I recommend them.

We have grown to love the Boxcar Children books, so these are no exception. Our first introduction to BCC was this past summer when I bought the very first book on CD to listen to on a road trip. My 6 year old son loved it and my four year old enjoyed it as well. After we listened to that one, I read these 4 aloud and we have since read many others. These are great for kids 6 and up. Even ones a little younger can listen along, but they're really geared more for first graders and up. The stories are exciting for young kids and each one has a mystery, but they're not scary at all and they're very timeless, even though some elements are a bit dated. The Boxcar Children characters are very polite and respectful and help each other out, so they model good behavior as well. Great books!

My daughter LOVES the Boxcar children and especially loves this audio book collection. She's 4 and we have her listen to it during rest time. I haven't listened to much of it myself, but it gets 5 stars from a four year old. :)

The stories are not new, and have a Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew feel to them. Classic with 1950s sensibilities, but they still entrance my 7 and 4 year olds. Single narrator, but extremely well done.

Our doctor recommended that our 9 yar old listen to books on tapes to address audioogical processing issues. She loves to listen to these stories. They are suspenseful and very descriptive. Kids (and adults) can vividly bring the story to life in their mind as they listen. The voices are a little strange at times ( I think the same person acts out each character--differently) but kids don't seem to notice or care. Great for car trips.

My children, ages 6yr and 9year, girl and boy, have loved these stories. They make travel in the car a pleasure!! The adventures are current and give great opportunities to discuss plot, character development, and climax. They are also well written and recorded beautifully!

I purchased this as a gift for my 7-year old granddaughter. It was a hit! She absolutely loved the stories and has listened to them several times already. I guess it is now time to buy more Boxcar Children.

I bought this as a Christmas present for my son when he was 7. He is 10 and he still listens to these stories occasionally. They are really good for this age group. He loves them.

This product came as a book, not the audio CD as described. It was a disappointment as I ordered it and it was to be delivered to my blind Mother several States away.
