About the Author

Author Sarah A. Creighton was inspired to write "The Boy Who Loved Broccoli" after the oldest of her three children had an insatiable appetite for broccoli when he was a toddler. Determined to encourage other parents to help their children develop a healthy relationship with vegetables, she started Veggie-Kids, a company which includes a recipe & lifestyle blog, cookbooks, children's books and apparel for kids of all ages. Sarah has become an advocate for raising healthy children and believes that by adding a healthy serving of humor and fun to the kitchen, children will be more willing to try the incredible bounty of what nature has to offer. The author lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and three sons. You will often find her in the kitchen with a couple of youngsters helping to sprinkle, mix and taste! This book is like a secret weapon to "trick" kids (in a good way, of course) into eating their veggies, and especially broccoli. I can't believe how quickly it worked too. My daughter is convinced that eating broccoli will give her super powers now. Love it!

I got this book to help me through my son's fussy eating stage. Being vegetarians my son would eat pretty much any veggie I served up. This all changed when he hit the 18 month mark. Ive since then had to blend up all his veggies and hide them to make sure he isn't missing out on all their benefits. This became VERY frustrating and with my son being now 26 months old he needed to be at least some non mushed veggies to go with his other normal foods. I came across this book after viewing Sarah's youtube channel and I must say I am so happy with the decision. After reading the book once my son ate his side of Broccoli (we eat ours raw) and he even stole some of our guinea pigs broccoli and spinach to munch for him self. I am so pleased as to how quick my son is attempting to eat his veggies again and it is his favorite bedtime book. My son now thinks he has veggie power!

"The Boy Who Loved Broccoli" is such wonderful tool to help kids eat vegetables! My own children put up a hard fight every time they see something green on their plate. I read this book to them one time and now they ask me for broccoli all the time so that they can get their "superpowers"! This is a must-have for parents and teachers. What a great book written in a fun way!

This book was a long read for a preschooler/kindergartner. The story is nice, but my child lost interest unless I condense the story. The pictures look line they are drawn on textured paper with colored pencils or watercolor. I am not expert on reviewing books or art work. The book appears to a beginner's book, but has a fun storyline.
