Overall, this was a wonderful story, but it needs so much work.

People don't say "erm" at the beginning of evey sentence, and they don't "smirk"or "wink" every two minutes. I was constantly distracted from the story by commas that were misplaced, and that was on every page. Punctuation is our friend.

I really don't understand why authors would put their work before the world and not make sure it was perfect.

There were absolutely no reviews for this book, so I felt as if I were going into it blindly. Yes, books always have descriptions, but it's the reviews written by other readers that usually sway my decision. So in this case, I was drawn to this book for several reasons: first, the cover art was beautiful. Second, the book's title was intriguing. Third, the book's description was interesting, and lastly, for the first time in a long time, I wanted to read a book that hadn't been previously judged and described by someone else.

So after having read the book, not knowing what to expect, here is my own review:

The story goes exactly as described: after being physically and emotionally abused at the hands of her stepfather, Rainie runs away from home to go stay with her aunt. While there, Rai meets Leighton, and despite her mistrust for men, Rai falls for him. Naturally, her past catches up with her...but with a very interesting twist.

After that I was able to piece together the ending's details before they happened. The story was good one, though certain aspects felt "off"'. For example, the author does a good job in getting you emotionally involved during the "flashbacks", yet somehow I felt disconnected while the rest of the story was being told. The passionate scenes sometimes felt real, and other times sounded as if it were coming from a cheesy romance novel. The relationship between the characters was well written, while certain situations seemed repetitive. It almost felt as if the book had been written by two different people, or that at times, the author was just not "feeling it".

Other things that bothered me were the use of the term (sound) "Erm". One character or another was using it at least once per page.

Good story, but definitely needs editing. Has the possibility to be a great book. Misspelled words, extra words, and partial sentences at times. Original story and great concept. Would be 5 stars.

There are no words to describe how I'm feeling right now... this isn't a hot steamy book, like a lot of the new books out there and I enjoyed the change. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book, but I'm glad I decided to take a chance.

Rainie has a scrap life in the beginning. A mother who doesn't care and a stepfather who is a waste of space. I hate (dislike is too nice a word) Mitch and Rainie's mom.. those too deserve each other for what they put Rai through.. Then Rai runs away and literally falls onto Leighton (Angel in disguise) Leighton is Rai's white knight.. She doesn't want to feel anything, doesn't want to stay to long in one place, afraid Mitch will find her, but there is something about Leighton and she just can't turn away.. Leighton is her rock, especially when Mitch comes back and she realizes who Leighton really is.. even when Leighton hears the whole story he is still by her side...

I laughed, screamed, and cried while reading this book.. towards the end I didn't think I was going to be able to finish they way the book was written, but I did and I'm so glad.. like I said above this is a change from all the erotica out there but in the end this book is so much better

I loved this story! The cover drew me in as it's sensational, and then the story took over, drawing me into the world of a broken young girl who discovers that love can conquer all. The book is beautifully written, and does a wonderful job with its 1st person narrative. There are twists and turns I did not expect, and which kept me turning the pages until the very end.

I loved the story. I made me want to cry, but it also made me happy. I specially loved watching rai recover from the evil that had taken over her life for so long. Great ending!

I don't usually write reviews but this book was so bad that I felt the need to. The summary of book sounded good, which is why i got it. However, this book needs a good editor and someone the same age as the characters to read it so that they can tell the author that NO ONE says "Erm" before almost every sentence. The word "erm" was on almost every other page from the beginning of the book. That and the fact that the interactions between the characters felt as fake as can be is part of the reason i didn't even finish the book. Nobody starts telling all their secrets to someone they just met a day ago. This book made me think that the author didn't know anything about being 18 or having real interactions with people.
I would not recommend reading this book unless you really like the use of the word "erm" or like rushed and unlikely interactions.

I have to say that i read this book with no expectations but i was highly impressed. It was an emotional journey. I was happy, sad and scared. Name it, I felt it. I love the pace of the book. It wasn't rushed and that really impresses me. The character was very strong. After everything, she was strong and I appreciate that. A very great book and must read
