I myself had always supported FUBU and when I knew Daymond wrote a book I had to get it ! The book grabs your attention right from the beginning . Daymond puts his love and passion with his downfalls in his book . I have to say that his path was set from the beginning to be who he is today from his parents, mentors, and friends . Just a pure honest book on his journey . You have to pick it up ! Can't tell you everything ! Find out yourself !

I enjoyed The Brand Within. Filled with generous tidbits of advice and wisdom, it leaves readers wondering about their "personal" brand. The advice from "The Shark" Daymond John if applied, can immensely enrich one's life personally and professionally.

An outstanding book by an impressive, industrious, smart and savvy individual, The Brand Within is definitely worth purchasing. Consider it an investment.

I haven't finished the book yet, but will do so in the next few days and update this review. I feel compelled to give this an early review.

The book is powerful in its simplicity. His directness and "in your face" style make you feel like he's talking directly to you (in a good way). You'll want to smack your forehead and think: "DUH!" He makes you stand back and think about what feels like the obvious, but is the strategic stuff that gets lost in the business (busy-ness?) of day to day living.

... and it's lendable! That's great! (Though I'm not sure I want to be without it for weeks. I expect I'll read it more than once.)

So... what do you want your brand to be????

Enjoy!

I really wanted to enjoy this book. There were way too many typos, he kept repeating himself etc. Just a boring read overall. It felt like a common sense conversation that went in circles. I'm appalled that the hustler I admired so much on The Shark Tank would put this piece out. Mr. John, this worked against your brand in my opinion.

Daymond John, one of the celebrities on the ABC hit show "The Shark" writes a compelling book on branding. His book contains nine chapters and is only 256 pages long. This book is really a great read on how you go from beginning to end and become a lifestyle. Daymond gives you a roadmap and provides outstanding examples of how some of the great branding masters did it, from Trump to Michael Jackson to Bruce Lee and Evel Knievel. This book is very educational on branding and what the small business owner and entrepreneur should be thinking about.

The best part of the book is when Daymond breaks it down into simple terms. A brand goes through evolutions from "item-label-brand-lifestyle."[1] An item is "generic, no frills, like pancake batter."[2] A label is a "step up from a basic item,"[3] but "it is something people are buying," [4] and "they don't really care what it is."[5] And, it continues with brand, which is "where most labels want to be,"[6] and "it's got an identifiable logo, a particular look, a trademark style,"[7] like Adidas, and Ping. The lifestyle is "a name you know and trust, reflecting a style or sensibility you want to claim as your own, but now it`s bled into other areas of your life as well, beyond the initial area of perceived need,"[8] life "Eddie Bauer, that's a lifestyle."[9] Daymond gives other examples of great brands that are now lifestyles - like Nike, Victoria Secret, and more.

This is a great book on branding for both the small business owner and aspiring entrepreneur. First reviewed on Inteljim.com.

Daymond is one very interesting guy. My business partner and CEO met Daymond a year ago at one of the investments he and Mark Cuban helped in Southbeach Florida.

I was inspired by my business partner's remarks about meeting Daymond, so I bought his book and read it. 3 times.

Daymond's ideas on branding are simply brilliant. Some of his ideas and stories on start ups and business ideas are simply hilarious. But he drives a lot of excellent points to 'start small' and 'start cultivating things you need to begin the steps of brand-building.'

A lot of the advice is simple and pragmatic, yet it's so common-sense driven you can't help but wonder why people over-complicate things and think too high. When we do that, nothing really seems to get done. Like the dog chasing his tail in a circle.

I used and followed his advice and it appears to be working in our business. I discovered the problems at what I was and wasn't doing right. I wasn't taking charge. I wasn't watching or listening to the culture and the changes out there.

As I read each page, Daymond's recipe for success in business started to make sense to me. In one weekend I wrote down the things I wasn't doing right. On Monday, I wrote out an action plan to correct the mistakes. Three months a ton of long hours later... I'm a 'happy camper,' and pleased to report his advice is (really) working.

Everyone has an idea and a dream to become better at what we do. Daymond shows you how to amplify this and take you dream and life to the "next level."

If you have ever worked in the real world, this is way too basic. If you are in high school or college it might resonate with you. The biggest disappointment is the consistently poor grammar and spelling mistakes.

Mr. John emphasizes the importance of self-branding, urging his readers to recognize and make the most of any opportunity to enhance their image. "From the day you're born, you're branding yourself," he says. "You are what you wear. You are what you drive, where you live, what you drink...' etcetera. Consequently, "Every move you make will establish... how the world looks back at you."

While it isn't exactly pleasant to think of the road to riches as paved by a series of critical consumer decisions, who am I to argue with a guy this successful and so convincing when he makes a case that, "Like it or not, intentional or not, you will be branded... and once you've been tagged, it will follow you around." Branding as the blueprint for making it in the 21st Century.

Daymond impressed us all once again with "The Brand Within". This was both a very entertaining and informative book! I have read other books on branding that don't measure up. It wasn't until I read his book before I came to realize the power of branding and how it impacts just about every aspect of our lives. Since reading his book, I have been forced to sit back and analyze what my personal brand is and how I can apply that to my future business endevours. I highly recommend this book to everyone who wishes to learn the roots of branding and how they too can use it to their advantage as Daymond has. Five stars all the way!
