More About the Author

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared.

Lora's family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in relative peace with each other. Surrounded by a menagerie of pets, friends, and a teenage son who keeps her quick wit engaged, Lora's life is filled with joys, aided by her fans whose hearts remind her daily why she writes.

The Breed Next Door by Lora Leigh is a short story revolving around Lyra and Tarek, the short story is well written and leaves you wanting a whole story based on these two characters.

Lyra has been giving Tarek hell every chance she gets ever since they became neighbors, she would like to think it's because he does things wrong not because every time she talks with him she gets hot. But now that someone has tried to break into her apartment and they were not the normal B&E robbers she's got even more questions about her savior, Tarek.

Tarek is on a mission, he's supposed to be looking for one of the lab scientists that got away. But for the past couple of months he hasn't found him, but when he saves Lyra from an attack at her house he realizes that the scientist is after her too.

The Breed Next Door is a fun, exciting read that will leave you wanting more

Tortured brooding breed male on the hunt for Counsel conspirators moves in next door to plucky female with Breed sympathies. Some cute moments in the beginning when she rails at him for cutting his lawn wrong, and he is attractively vulnerable while longing for her baked goods, soon descend into routine sex and violence.

In order to fit this Breeds story into a novella length, Leigh surgically removed most of the story and all of the character development. I am not a stickler. The Breeds books are meant to be steamy and entertaining, not literature, and that's why I like them. However, it seems like Leigh set up a plot, then decided developing it/resolving conflicts took up too much space, so she settled for just leaving in a lot of hot sex.

I recommend skipping this one - even for compulsive Breed buyers - wait for the next (complete) book in her publishing schedule.

I loved the premise of this book. It was a fast read but it was lots of fun while it lasted.

I was looking for Kindle stories by Lora Leigh that I might not have when I came across this one. I thought it sounded familar... because I already read it!

FYI - This story was in Hot Spell (Anthology).

Just another great read from Lora Leigh. I am just a great fan of the Feline Breed series. As a matter of fact Lora Leigh is my number one author and her Breed series is my number one series. I own every book and even though I love short stories I feel every breed deserved their own book.

This was a fun frolic for a couple of hours. This book delivers what it promised- an eroctic read. I wish the storyline was a little more in depth. This was my first Lora Leigh, but will not be my last. Definitely not a story for the easily embarassed.

Id rate this book a solid 4.5 stars. It was short but the plot was fast paced, and the execution was great.

The pros:
* I loved that they were neighbors and their relationship progressed over time
* Tarek was such a loveable hero - I'd really enjoyed the aspect of him learning everything on his own and how he appreciated the smallest things. Mowing, homemade bread, etc
* The sex was beyond steamy!!!!!!!!!! Off the charts hotness
* For a short book (a little under 100 pages) it was intense
* It was a page turner - never really a dull moment

The cons:
* A 24 year old virgin??? Ugh
* It did have that insta-love vibe to it
* An epilogue could have done wonders

Overall, this was a great addition to the series and I look forward to reading more.
