5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable Resource January 16, 2011
Format:Paperback
Anne Roos is a talented harpist with ample experience performing at weddings, and has drawn not only on her own experiences and insights for this book, but on those of others. The result is an enjoyable to read, informative guide to all the important aspects of having live music at your wedding. She provides copious tips on how to make sure the performance is a terrific experience for both the wedding party and guests, and for the musicians themselves.

However, don't overlook this book just because you're planning something besides a wedding. Many of the principles discussed are just as applicable to live musicians at such events as Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, parties, dances, socials, etc. Many of the potential pitfalls that can occur during a wedding can also occur at these other events, and taking the time to work with your musicians can make a world of difference in the success of your gathering.

The book contains examples of contracts and forms, and plenty of guidelines for how to handle all the facets of hiring live musicians. While there are many people who may be able to give similar advice, the value of having this information collected in an easy-to-access book is exceptional.
