Book Description

Death is sad, love is agony.

Max was her next job. She got his name just before he died and it was for her to lead his soul to heaven. She was a Bringer.

Then Max started pleading (as they often do), but not for himself, for his son, James.

Would she look after him, would she comfort him as he grieved for the loss of his father? James was a sensitive young man. He would take his father's death very hard.

Well, Bringers don't do that sort of thing; their exclusive role is to usher souls to heaven. They are not allowed to get involved in earthly affairs.

However, when she saw James, she felt something she had never felt before – an emotion, a shock.

She was a Bringer. Bringers do not have emotions.

Yet she couldn't help herself. She found herself being drawn inexorably towards James and his life, against every instinct she had ever had, against every law of the universe.

And she fell in love.

For a Bringer, that is a terrifying fall.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended by the wife and still a good read! July 13, 2011
Format:Paperback
The Bringer was recommended to me by my wife. An avid reader of romance and the supernatural, she raved about this until I had to read it.
What can I say, she was right.
It took me a little to get into the book, being a man and being very dubious about romance, love, sentiment etc. So imagine my horror when I found myself actually enjoying the emotion-tugging storyline and in fact rooting for Lucyna, the main protagonist, to come good!!
A lovely well paced story that opens up slowly and then takes off like a rocket. Enjoy.

3.0 out of 5 stars An accomplisment! July 10, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I've just finished reading The Bringer in two days. It's that easy to read and that compelling. Samantha Towle has done a truly impressive job by creating a main character (Lucyna) who is not human like us but nonetheless supra-human and a very interesting character. Lucyna doesn't seem to have an ego and so when she falls in love with James she falls in love totally and irrevocably. She doesn't think of herself anymore, although she reproaches herself that she has been egoistic to save James's life. Yet, in all her devotion to her love, she doesn't come across as a self-effacing being, she is in fact immensely strong because of her love. That strong that she conquers everything and becomes a heroine. Samantha has made a strong statement with this debut.

5.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative and Emotional December 4, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
While I'm not normally a fan of christian mythos, I found this story to be an exception. And the reason for that is the main character, Lucyna, an angel who finds herself becoming embroiled in the human world. Lucyna is very powerful, yet is only through her relationship with James that she finds that the root of all of her power, and the greatest power in the universe, is love.

The book has a number of exquisitely executed plot twists, guaranteed to keep you turning the page. But what really holds you is the main character, as she learns that she is all too human.

5.0 out of 5 stars MUST READ :))) May 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Well I have to start out by saying that Samantha Towle is one of my fav authors EVER! I loved The Bringer...it was a unbelievably moving story. I was so captivated by Lucyna and the way she fell in love with James. I also loved how there was a little mystery in the book that kinda kept you thinking there was more to the story than meets the eye. It was a great quick read and the ending was AMAZING! It left me in tears and I'm sure I looked like a hot mess after reading the book...LOL. I would highly recommend this book and the others that Samantha writes. Her leading men are hot and leave you breathless and her leading ladies are so real and relatable. Just an amazing read all together :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Bring it on again April 15, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow, what a fascinating concept of I guess angels for want of a better word. The hierarchy of heaven is a little more complicated than this perhaps but to tell too much might spoil the story. It is enough to say that even immortal characters can behave in an all too familiar and unpleasant human manner. This is a love story that you cannot put down until the last page is read. We want the happy ending and Samantha Towle certainly knows how to manipulate words so we are hooked in enough to want to recommend without question. Bring on The Bringer and anything else you want to write about, Samantha. A great read!!!!!!!!!!!
