Book Description

October 14, 2008
Everyone's life is governed by an internal code of conduct. Some call it morality. Others call it religion. But Bros in the know call this holy grail The Bro Code.

Historically a spoken tradition passed from one generation to the next, the official code of conduct for Bros appears here in its published form for the first time ever. By upholding the tenets of this sacred and legendary document, any dude can learn to achieve Bro-dom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hilarious and a Fun Read January 1, 2011
Format:Paperback
You know.... There are books that are supposed to help you learn something, then there are books that are fun. This one is pure fun!

Written with the Barney Stintson style, it lists rules for men hanging out with dudes to live by in a funny way. A typical page is one sentence long. Some pages have examples and diagrams that add to the experience.

Why buy this book?
- 1. You are a man, and don't understand the essentials of how to treat your bros
- 2. You want to laugh
- 3. You don't really want to admit that you like reading
- 4. You're a woman, and you want to rip on guys and/or understand men better

Why should you not buy this book?
- 1. You are easily offended
- 2. You are sexist
- 3. You are too old to appreciate the single guy humor
- 4. You are a speed reader - in which case you should have already read it in the store

5.0 out of 5 stars Priceless humor for any fan of the show November 10, 2008

This book isn't some quick, half-hearted cash-in for How I Met Your Mother Fans, it's basically Barney Stinson in paperback form. The Bro Code is hilarious. If you're a fan of the show you'll likely hear Neil Patrick Harris' voice in your head as you read the book cover-to-cover. With diagrams, footnotes, and over 150 "codes" written by the show's writers, this is a can't miss book.

This book embodies what it means to be a bro, how to act like a bro, and even proper punishment for violation of bro code. Besides countless laughs this book does in fact set a good standard for bro's to follow

Okay to read if I'm still on the first season?
It's OK to get it. I hope you're watching the DVDs and by now have finished season 4. If so, you may have noticed that throughout this much of the series, Barney has broken the Bro Code twice. Poor guy is a tortured soul. I love NPH.

Does Neil Patrick Harris actually narrate the audio version of the Bro...
He does, and it's hilarious. The audio CD also comes with a 41-page PDF with select "articles" from the Code. It's NPH, but it's Barney. Each "article" is announced in a fake announcer's voice, then Neil/Barney reads the article. For example: "ARTICLE SIXTY-NINE! ... Read more
