Book Description

David Peretz, the author of The Mosel Legacy, returns with The Broderick Curse, featuring NYPD's Ross Cortese, joined by Sally McDevitt, ex-NYPD, Chief of Detectives, Massachusetts State Police. It is dead winter in the Berkshires. A local man drops a fishing-line into a hole chopped in an iced-over pond. The line grows taut. He tugs and pulls up a skeletal hand. What a way to start the New Year! The skeleton found behind the wheel of a Mercedes sedan buried beneath murky waters, provides the first clue to a colder-than-cold-case. The case heats up as Ross and Sal investigate a tangled web of greed, corporate deceit, boardroom and bedroom intrigue, international conspiracy--and murder.

About the Author

David Peretz is a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, writer and editor. His first novel, The Mosel Legacy (available in re-edition on Amazon) was inspired by events in Europe in the 1990's (stirrings of neo-Nazism), which suggested that history could, indeed, repeat itself. He is on the faculty of the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychoanalytic Center. Before turning to the suspense genre, he co-edited a number of books in the field of loss and grief, death and dying. He and his wife, Eileen, an award-winning interior designer, live in New York and spend part of the year in Paris. They are the proud, happy parents and grandparents of Deborah, Ray, Hillary and Isaac--and Adam, heather, Noah and Zachary.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thriller Read! October 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I read David Peretz's 1st novel called The Mosel Legacy and it was exciting and really good. This is a continuation with the same characters. It's a police thriller involving a policeman. You really need to read these books in order. I am now reading the 3rd novel he wrote and it is just as exciting. Hope he write a 4th novel, etc. The characters have depth and flaws and the story sucks you in to keep you reading.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Broderick Curse November 9, 2009
Format:Paperback
As an avid reader of suspense, mystery novels, I could not wait for David Peretz to write a sequel to his first novel, The Mosel
Legacy. He did not disappoint me with his new novel, The Broderick Curse. The Broderick Curse is a keep you up, page turner with all kinds of twists and turns and a terrific conclusion. Peretz has a wonderful knack to keep you riveted to the exciting plot. A must read. Also, if you have not read The Mosel Legacy, get it as well.

A rich, complex plot of many finely-drawn characters, in gathering tension, all moving towards an inevitable and satisfying conclusion. I couldn't put it down.
