5.0 out of 5 stars Why this was a special collection. January 12, 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
This collection came out in 1962. I bought it in 1963, and it contained above all else the two incredible songs, "Greenfields" and "Green Leaves of Summer." This is an early album, untampered with, and it had and has a feel of its own. Those who bought it in the early to mid-sixties will still remember this as the definitive Brothers Four album, even if one or two of their own favorites are not on it. It stands alone, and it stands as a whole which exceeds the sum of its parts.

Format:Audio CD
I like the Brothers Four, but how can a Greatest Hits CD be released without their best song, Try to Remember?

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent September 7, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
I had this album in vinyl when younger, so I wanted to replace it with current technology. It's an excellent bunch of songs from a great singing group. Some fun, some serious. Great harmony. The CD itself is great, and arrived in excellent condition.

4.0 out of 5 stars The brothers four-Greatest hits August 27, 2006
Format:Audio CD
I like about the music of "The brothers four", I`m 58 years, that`s kind of music I've been listening about 25-30 years ago, living in a small town in Finland I didn`t found that kind of CD here, so I`m satisfied to get it. Thank you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff! One of the stars is probably for nostalgia November 18, 1999
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
Another customer wrote about confusing B4 with K3. Well, Scotch and Soda was originally recorded by the Kingston Trio with Bob Shane singing the solo. Raspberries, Strawberries (the one about an old man returning to Paris) was also Kingston Trio. The Brothers Four covered many numbers by other artists. They do it very well, but it's hard to beat Bob Shane' Scotch and Soda.

This is one of the best albums published by this group. Would recommend this product. The music is retro but so well done. It really has a drawing value with their music.

A number of these early titles really bring back memories. This is not a remastered effort, so you get to hear it as it was presented then. Really pleasant listening !
