Book Description

While working on a project for the eccentric mathematician Antoine Brueck, graduate student Steven Brooks discovers that one of the professor's chaos theory formulas appears to predict airplane crashes. Steven's own life is thrown into total chaos as he races against time to understand what is happening ... and to prevent the next disaster. Can Brueck's equation really predict plane crashes, or is there a more sinister explanation? And can Steven unravel the mystery in time to save the lives of 437 passengers on final approach to disaster?

5.0 out of 5 stars Spielberg, when's the movie coming out???? May 22, 2009
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Norwood is one of the best new novelists I have read in years. He could be the Dan Brown of the science writers. "The Brueck Equation" has the quality of a great suspense movie. The characters are well-developed and the plot is compelling, believable and quite simply, a great read. Expect to hear rave reviews on this book before the summer is over and hopefully, a new novel in the making from Simmons Norwood.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too descriptive, could benefit from trim September 21, 2012

Novel is way too descriptive and these descriptions bring nothing to the storyline. Would need an editor pass to cut some paragraphs that didn't move the story along.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story September 21, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I enjoyed reading The Brueck Equation. It kept my interest and there were not too many typos. However, I did not like the way the author decided to end it. Unless he was setting us up for a sequel, what happened at the end made no sense to me. Other than that I thought the book was well written. One other complaint, I thought the description of what Steven and Kelli did in New Orleans was too long and too detailed. It really had nothing to do with the story and to me it was boring. On the other hand, I think the author could have had a little more about Steven and Kelli's relationship and how it developed into an intimate one. Just making an offhand comment that was equivalent to saying, "Oh, by the way they made love recently" to me was not enough. And Stephen King, the famous author, spells his name with a "ph", not a "v".
