Great book! There are a lot of useful (and tasty!) recipes in here, and it is the perfect BBQ season companion. Buy it and get grillin'!

Good concept its a good one with good recipes .. After perusing it, I did make a couple of the items featured in it and consulted the recipes too.

First off, the book has great eye-appeal; its inviting and just plain ol' fun, as burgers should be! Let's face it, a burger is a burger is a burger ... until you add some "Ka-Pow"! The "Beet Burger" (SO delicious when the beet carmelizes and turns sweet), the "Black+Blue Burger" (fabulous taste combo in your mouth), the "BLT Burger w/asparagus avocado dip" -- great Scott, just take me to heaven. These type of burgers make it really hard to stop at just one, and can't wait for the left-overs.

Tons of delicious and unusual relishes, aoli, dips and smears, side-salads and even a few mixed drinks pushed it to five-stars and beyond for me. Most ingredients are things typically on hand or not hard to find. There's versatility, creativity, every recipe has a photo, tons of original ideas, and the great price made this the bargain of the day. Yep, I'm a fitness guru and nutritionist, so though we skip those beautiful buns, we LUV the protein. For me, when a cookbook makes you hungry - that's a winner. The entire book has a great design to it, as most Parragon publications do. LUV it!

I was really surprised there weren't actually more 'burger' recipes. There are turkey recipes, mushroom recipes, chicken recipes...anything between a bun counts as a burger. A bit disappointing.

I just received "best of home cooking" today and was flipping through the pages and noticed a photo that looked familiar, the crispy onion rings on page 124 is the same exact photo from "The Burger, an action packed delicious adventure" p.205. Both are printed by parragon. They have pretty different recipes, one using mostly flour and the other using panko bread crumbs and instant mashed potatoes. I like looking at photos to pick out what i want to cook but whats the point if the photos aren't of the actual recipe.

NAUGHTY PARAGON

UPDATE:

I first gave this book one star because of the photo issue. I only have two cookbooks from parragon. I hate to think how many shared photos there are in other books. It's more of a problem for the other book anyway since its recipe is the one that uses panko bread crumbs and the photo looks like flour. Hell this book even says to use lettuce leaves to serve like the photo. Despite being mad at this issue originally, I still kept the book and plan on using it. And even though I only cooked one burger from this, which I liked, the other recipes look ( or sound I should say after reading the ingredient lists) tasty too. I really wanted a variety of recipes which this has.
