The written parts are the same as the older and original, but the most importatnt part is missing--no pictures. It is very difficult to have a bird identification book without pictures. Very disappointing.

This book contains many wonderful facts about all different kinds of birds and teaches about bird orders and families. Here are some things I learned from reading this book:

1.Both male and female Northern Cardinals can sing.

2.Hummingbirds are good fighters, despite their small size. They use their long, sharp bills to stab oher birds while fighting.

3.Grouse can lay over 15 eggs in one clutch.

4.During the winter, Chickadees find some of their food by gleaning tiny insect eggs from underneath tree branches.

5. Brown Thrashers are closely related to Catbirds and Mockingbirds, but unlike their relatives Thrashers don't imitate other birds.

This is a great book for those who love birds and want to know more about them. It is also appropriate for younger children. I highly recommend his book!

If you want to know what a "living book" is, just read the first couple chapters of this and you will understand. So much fun to read and so very educational.

I have only read some of the book and I found it fun to read and very educational for children. But they don't even realize they are learning! That's the best part!

Loved how this story form teaches about the appearance and characteristics of birds and how some of them are related. There are no pictures, so I just used the internet to provide picture visuals each time we would finish a chapter.

This book is a rare treasure, a simple, yet interesting story that teaches children about animals, their habitats, and their relationships in nature. I have my children draw pictures while I read aloud.

I would give this book 5 stars if it had pictures. I recommend this book to parents who want their young children to know about the real animal world by telling a cute story from Peter Rabbit's point of view. "Bird" book is a little misleading.

The Burgess Bird book for Children is a great book about birds ( what else?) I learned lots of stuff about birds that I never knew before. This book is told through the eyes of Peter rabbit, as he discovers things he never knew before. I would pay $5 for this book, but lucky me, it's FREE! you should get it for your kindle
