About the Author

*Melina B. Jampolis, M.D. Dr. Melina is one of only several hundred board certified physician nutrition specialists in the United States. A graduate of Tufts University and Tufts University School of medicine, she completed her internal medicine residency at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, a Stanford University teaching hospital. She is a member of the American Society for Nutrition and the Obesity Society. She was the host of Fit Tv's Diet Doctor and has served as the diet and fitness expert for CNN.com since 2008. Her first book, The No Time to Lose Diet was released in 2007. She is a frequent guest on national television programs including Live with Regis and Kelly, Dr. Oz, Fox Business Network and CNN and is regularly interviewed for diet and nutrition related publications across the country. 

*Karen Ansel, M.S., R.D., C.D.N. is a nutrition consultant, journalist and author specializing in nutrition, health and wellness. She is a regular contributor to national women's, health and cooking magazines and is the co-author of Healthy in a Hurry and the 2011 IACP finalist The Baby & Toddler Cookbook: Fresh, Homemade Foods for a Healthy Start. She is a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a contributing editor for Woman's Day Magazine. Karen is a graduate of Duke University and she received her Masters of Science in clinical nutrition from New York University. 
*Ami Jampolis, M.S, CSCS is the owner of Focus Fitness and a certified personal trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine as well as a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. She has over 17 years experience in the health & fitness industry. Ami holds a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology and a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from Arizona State University. She spent several years working in physical therapy learning injury prevention & rehabilitation which she incorporates into her personal training.

5 stars for Dr. Melina's Calendar Diet. I have followed her since she had her TV series. I read her first book and loved it. Lost 70 pounds following her plan and am keeping it off. I would like to lose a little more so I hope this book will give me that boost. I love the approach she uses -- combiningthe food plan, exercise and simple recipes. This book is a little simpler than her first book -- no calculating carb sensitivity -- although I think I will stick to my 3 carbs a day. The focus on what is fresh each season and tips for overcoming seasonal challenges whether it's a barbecue or Christmas dinner. Can't wait to try some of the recipes. What's great is you dont have to read the whole book to get started...just focus on your season and read the exercise tips! Thanks for another winning book! I've also tried her protein bars and they rock! This new book of Dr.Melina's is one of the best healthy eating guide I have ever read. In fact I keep this book next to my bed to review each evening for motivation...... I like reviewing my eating plan and the recipes are FABULOUS!!! Super, super easy and taste great. I love the Egg Whites Rancheros. Theres a lot of info that is so easy to read. I'm working on the exercises with weights. That is definitely my weakness and the pictures help.
I've gotten a few for friends and I'm going to buy a few more to share with friends who want to be into a healthy life style.
If you want to improve your mental and physical health, Dr. Melina is the one that can do it. I can't say enough(:

This book presents information in an easy-to-follow fashion that many people will be able to use. The guide offers helpful tips to get dieters through the entire year, following the thought that the easier something is, the more likely someone is to do it.

I found the book to be quite interesting. It's divided into food seasons. The recipes are creative and delicious. Following a recent heart attack and by-pass surgery, I now have a new outlook on cooking.
