5.0 out of 5 stars Especially appropriate for anyone seeking menu selections for a Cape Malay themed dinner party, August 10, 2008
This review is from: The Cape Malay Illustrated Cookbook (Paperback)
There is a growing appreciation for authentic regional and ethnic cuisines prepared in American kitchens for the culinary adventurous. A very highly recommended addition to personal, professional, and community library multi-cultural cookbook collections is "The Cape Malay Illustrated Cookbook" featuring a series of recipes from Cape Malay's Muslim populace. Assembled by Faldela Williams from her exhaustive and intimate expertise with Malay cooking traditions and nicely illustrated with the watercolor artwork of Liz Mills, the thoroughly 'kitchen cook friendly' recipes are presented with metric measurements that can easily be converted to American measurements with included 'Conversion Tables'. These authentic and palate pleasing dishes range from Spicy Kebabs; Tuna Biryani; Tomato Bredie; and Masala Steak; to Orange Baked Pumpkin; Easy Pineapple Cheesecake; Cornflake Biscuits; and Aniseed Raisin Loaf. "The Cape Malay Illustrated Cookbook" is especially appropriate for anyone seeking menu selections for a Cape Malay themed dinner party -- and for extraordinary family dining.
