Book Description

Sometimes magic arrives on fairy dust. Other times it is summoned on the lips of believers. Once in a while it is a gift from some gray haired old sage - usually in the form of a sword or an amulet or some equally impractical gift for a 12 year old. But for Jason Lee, resident of 100 Main St., somewhere-not-too-important, the magic arrived in a plain brown box, off the back of a rather plain brown truck, delivered by a person in a rather plain brown uniform. The cash converter arrived by accident.

What would you do if you could convert anything… or anyone… into cold hard cash?

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun adventure without the travel December 26, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It has been a long time since I have read anything that would be classed as kids' literature, so I wasn't entirely sure what to expect when a friend recommended "Cash Converter" for some light holiday reading. What I was treated to was an escape to my youth: this is exactly the kind of book I would have enjoyed at that time.

This is not an intense trip through some foreign land. It is an enjoyable adventure close to home, enhanced with futuristic tech and oddball characters. The storyline flows easily and is told with enough humour to engage even the most distracted young reader.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Action! January 5, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Seems to have the best elements of "Young Adult" fantasy: courage, loyalty, transformation. The bonus is the incredible stunting. There are scenes which seem to put one in the center of vivid and heart-racing action. Characters are engaging, some unforgettable... The word play and the humor make it a compelling read, the tempo quickly draws a reader in and holds one "captive" through the finish. The friendships formed are strengthened, challenged and taken to deeper levels. Gadgetry + Wisdom = A tale for our times!

5.0 out of 5 stars Appealing for Everyone May 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
A great read from a great author! Yes it's a kids/young adult book but the plot and compelling characters make the book enjoyable for older readers too. The middle school aged characters act their age without being too whiney and immature, something that would normally turn me away from kid lit. Definitely a page turner.
