Review

The Chakra Diaries is full of passion, sensuality, humor and great teachings. In stories of rugged roads, hopes, pleasures and dreams, we see 10 people's lives weave together in a work of art for the heart! ~  Marya Mann, PhD, Brave New Viewsletter

From the Author

As the facilitator and also a participant during chakra workshops, I have witnessed miracles and magic, twists and turns I never expected in myself or others. They've haunted me until placed on the page in this fictional narrative that includes a group leader on her own quest to live a life of discovery and love. Because of her humanity, she tends to love too much and overstep all the conventional boundaries, but she stirs her students at levels where they can discover themselves too and find truth, happiness and love.

More About the Author

I am fascinated by human emotions and have compiled the whole range I've encountered as a holistic health counselor into my novel, THE CHAKRA DIARIES. In the sequel, CHAKRA SECRETS, I share my own path to love and happiness, plus an instant healing technique anyone can use to balance their chakras and balance their lives.

BALANCE YOUR CHAKRAS, BALANCE YOUR LIFE, is a companion book to CHAKRA SECRETS, taking you step-by-step through the Dynamind instant healing process. If you'd like more love and happiness in your life, don't wait a minute more to buy this book and learn my secret.

Many of my readers have asked for information on food and the chakras, and if a chakra imbalance is related to food. Yes, indeed... so I've written THE CHAKRA ENERGY DIET. It provide the answers to why you have food cravings, are overweight or have health issues. The solution? A rainbow buffet of whole foods, exercise and relaxation techniques.

To experience how Chakra Meditation can help you become more grounded and centered, listen and download my free meditation at http://www.TheChakras.org.

When not reading, writing, meditating or doing yoga, I am a "wannabe" mermaid living on the Big Island of Hawaii and I try to enjoy each moment with my husband and baby. Aloha!

I have been browsing books for my own personal Chakra education, and came across this book. LOVED it, and couldn't put it down. This book is a very well written fictional account, yet taps into the true meaning of the Chakras. The reviews don't exaggerate when they say that you'll laugh, cry and cheer on the characters of The Chakra Diaries. A must read for ALL '

The Chakra Diaries draws you into the life stories of nine participants in a chakra workshop, lead by Rebecca. Their life paths and Rebecca's intersect at the workshop, where they are exposed to the healing power of love. The novel contains all their individual diaries, with their human hopes, fears, emotions, challenges, triumphs, setbacks, and lives. The book is in the end a beautifully told love story, and we see the participants removing obstacles that block love and the expression of love. Interspersed within you will also find chakra visualization meditations, and insightful spiritual quotes. Reading this book brought me joy.

I was contacted by the author for an honest review during a free promotion a couple of years ago. I agreed and downloaded a copy due to being interested in spirituality and the chakras. Unfortunately, due to my rather large reading list, I have only recently been able to read it.

This is a collection of stories that were quite interesting. They are a small insight into the lives of the people who, in one way or another, found themselves learning about chakras and opening themselves to spiritual and emotional growth through the teachings of Rebecca. Each story relates to a journey taken by the various characters and the emotional or physical barriers that have weighed them down over the years, which relates to the chakras of the body. These are the Root, Sacral, Solar Plexis, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown chakras. Each chakra is represented by a colour: Red for the Root, Orange for the Sacral, Yellow for the Solar Plexis, Emerald Green for the Heart, Sky Blue for the Throat, Indigo for the Third Eye and Violet for the Crown.
The characters come from varied backgrounds and social circles. However, they all have found themselves at a crossroads in their lives. They are Estrella, Barry, Deborah, Sarah, Carol, Jean, Julie, Tony and Mark. Rebecca also has her diary entry included.
I loved meeting these characters and getting to know them better through their diary entries; they all come alive as their stories are revealed. The characters in this book take the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride as they struggle with their issues and undertake their journeys into spirituality.

However, I struggled to follow the chakra meditations at the beginning of each section.

Format: Paperback
Chakra Diaries ISBN 9781450531917, e-book by Becca Chopra is the first of a pair of books that I have received to read in a less usual manner - the second before the first.
In this first volume, the opening material presents a primer for the uninitiated. It first defines Chakras, the energy centers of the body. Then an explanation is given as to how these energy levels may be discerned. Next, a program is set forth that is tailored to bring these energies into a harmonious balance. There follows a number of case histories or, as the author states, a "Novel Collection of Life Stories" in which the individuals employed the programs successfully. These latter are individual diary entries from those each individual was instructed to maintain following the counseling sessions. (Note: From their appearance, it is obvious these have been edited for publication.) At the end of each case history/chapter a particular meditation/treatment is offered. As presented, this book provides a modality and the case histories of a number of individuals for whom the programs proved to be most beneficial. It also contains subject matter that deals with the author's personal involvement with certain members in such a manner that some readers might construe as insensitive.
Thus, the second book, Chakra Secrets (see earlier review), addresses this matter along with providing further instructive discussion - in this manner the writing progresses through a difficult, often poignant, perhaps fulfilling, recounting of activities seemingly designed to perform multiple tasks - to serve as a catharsis, to attempt to provide a way to negate any feelings of insensitivity the previous book may have generated and to set forth evidence of an extension and growth of the author's treatment repertoire.

It's interesting that I read this book first, because the Chakra Secrets goes into more detail about the author. Really, do yourself a favor and purchase this book, along with Becca's The Chakra Secrets. In any case, I related to the first character of the story most of all. Some of the characters I couldn't relate to but as the old saying goes, it takes all types of vegetables to make a soup!

The aspect I took away the most, is how much spiritual trauma affects so many other areas of our lives. It made me think that the average person is so quick to judge the behaviors and the body language of others, but does anyone really know WHY a person behaves or interacts with the world as they do? Sometimes, the person who seems weird, off-balance or guarded doesn't even know why they behave as they do. That's what the Chakra Diaries sessions were all about. The sessions were about what led the participants to find energy and spiritual healing, and how they came to learn more about themselves.

This is a great book for anyone who is new to the world of Chakra energy healing. The concept is presented in a way that is very accessible and relatable. The characters are all imperfect and yet all too familiar. The stories in this book could motivate the reader want to learn more about healing their Chakras, without beating them over the head with esoteric information.
