This is an essential book for those who are interested in theurgy or neo-platonism. BUT: Here's what you need to know. This very book that you are looking at here on this page can be purchased directly from the publisher from Amazon.co.uk for about $49.00 U.S. dollars, including standard shipping. That's what I just did. Don't get hosed.

A fine translation of the surviving fragments of what the ancient Greeks knew as the Chaldean Oracles, with the original Greek facing the English translation. This is as good as it gets -- that is, until someone miraculously unearths an ancient group of scrolls containing the original text... Or until some scholar finds an early medieval translation in some monastery somewhere. This book represents an important resource into the religious mind of the Mediterranean world two thousand years ago.

This version of Chaldean Oracles is new academic study results than those of Thomas Tayler or Westcott. Most preferble point is the style of interlinear with Greek originals/English translations. Some theurgists or practical magicians need to check reliabilities of Westcott translations. So this book is Good choice to examine.
