Outstanding album,
By Heather (ATL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Chase (Audio CD)
So here goes my first hip-hop review, at least this artist fuses rock and the hip-hop so I do not fully feel like a total fish out of water. The Chase is Manafest's fourth full-length album. Hailing from Canada, Manafest has always had a history of mixing rock and hip-hop in a very successful way. Some of his previous hits include my favorite song of his "Impossible" which was a great anthem. This album really is no different from his previous albums; however, the sound is much more mature and aggressive. With The Chase, I believe this is Manafest's best work of mixing hip-hop and rock. Most of the songs have some powerful guitar riffs that get your head bobbing. As well as the music, Manafest does an outstanding job of weaving his clean vocals and rap around the guitars. The lyrics are like his previous albums and are very rhyme heavy; however, I have always enjoyed his clean singing. Lyrically, Manafest tackles some big concepts of realizing you need to come back to Christ in "Every Time You Run" to not turning back from Christ in "No Plan B." As always, Manafest always brings some special guests in for some guest vocals and this album is no different. Guest include: * Koie in "No Plan B" * Dustin Antsey in "Better Cause Of You" and "Break Free" * Trevor McNevan in "Fire In The Kitchen," "Every Time You Run," and "Renegade" The Best song on the album is "No Plan B" because it is probably the hardest song on the album and Koie of Cross Faith adds a unique screaming element that really adds some depth to the track. The other great song on the album is "Every Time Your Run" with Trevor of Thousand Foot Krutch. This song is softer but has a great message about someone who has been running on their own for so long and has realized that Christ is the only answer; however, the struggle to come back to Christ is not an easy thing to admit or to do. However, at the end of the Day Christ is always there. Overall: this is an outstanding album by Manafest, and his best work to date. If you liked his older albums and his fusion of rock and hip-hop then this album is exactly what you need. Manafest brings some big guitars to the party that do not disappoint. If you have always enjoyed rock and hip-hop fusion then Manafest is one of the best out there, and you should definitely support him and his music by checking out The Chase. cross psoted from Indie Vision

I was not necessarily a big fan of Manafest, but this album is not like the previous albums. There are remnants of some earlier songs, but overall the album is a new sound for Manafest. I was pleasantly surprised to the change. Avalanche was one of my favorites on this album.

I love it!,

Great CD!I admit, the only other Manafest CD I have is "Glory" and I was totally expecting that sound when I got this one - and I was disappointed at the difference. As "Glory" (to me) is primarily rap with hip-hop and rock mix - where as "The Chase" is primarily rock with a rap and hip-hop mix. HOWEVER, the second time I listened to this CD - I liked it, and the third - I loved it. It's my favorite. The songs are lyrically great - and the sounds really are Manafest.

This manafest cd is a must buy for anyone who loves hip hop, trevor mcknevan, and awesome songs they here on the radio, cause this cd has all of the above. They show there hip hop in songs like "No Plan B", theyre soft side in "Every time you run, and theyre rock in "Avalanche and "Bring the Rucus". This is one of my favorite cds along with artists like TFK, Skillet, FM static, Toby Mac, and Daughtry. I highly recomend this to everyone!

Manafest's 'The Chase',
This review is from: The Chase (MP3 Download)
Manafest's album 'The Chase' is a hard-hitting, rock album that really show-cases his skill and talent. A firm mixture of Rock and Hip-Hop, it is exciting and edgy, keeping your head nodding all the way through. It definitely lives up to the expectations set by all of his previous albums - I give it five stars! - and I am super excited to hear what he has in store for us next year!

The Chase is an amazing album! Every song has its own different beat and sound. Every song has meaning and very encouraging. This is Chris's best album in my opinion. Every Time You Run is a great example of the encouraging songs of this album. Thanks so much!

Manafest continues to put out amazing music with this latest album. Well-placed humor, God-centered lyrics, and impeccable rhyming skills abound in this album. No Plan B and Avalanche are definite highlights in this one!

Manafest is my all-time favorite artist :) I will say this album is much better than his previous works, although Glory is a great cd as well. Loved that he has other artists sing with him on some of the songs- especially Trevor from TFK, they have a great sound together. This is a cd I listen to a lot!
