3.0 out of 5 stars Not so Great April 13, 2011

I don't recommend these as the best silicone egg poachers--the poachpods are far superiod in terms of the end result. It's a great design with flat bottom so it doesn't roll over, and the little handles, but the egg doesn't come out as creamy and there isn't as much room in them as the poachpods so you can't add any ingredients like cheese or an extra large egg without it spilling over. too bad because I loved the design and price.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the price worth it though not my favorite March 20, 2012

These do a great job of poaching eggs. The egg slips out easy. For the price this is an excellent value ... However I really like the Fusionbrands 3-Inch Silicone Poach Pod Egg Poaching Tool, Green much better.

The shape of the eggs from this set is oval. The shape of Fusionbrands Poach Pods is more round and it works better for breakfast sandwhiches on English Muffins

Also the sides of these poachers are thicker and it seems not to cook the egg as fast as the Fusionbrands Poach Pods.

In both product the egg slips out easily regardless of how hard the yoke is cooked.

If your cooking for a family or a crowd this product is excellent. If you are just cooking for one or two the Fusionbrands Poach Pods are much better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tricky to get your eggs just right... February 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Getting your eggs just right apparently takes some practice. Best to butter or spray pods with oil. Cooked in frying pan about 1/2 full of simmering water with lid on for approx. 5 1/2 minutes (large eggs) I made overdone first time, very nice second time, too runny third time. Poached egg whites are noticeably more tender throughout. Also no crusty edges you sometimes get with frying and much less greasy of course.

These have a little square foot on the bottom and will sit upright on their own.

I like the softer texture of the poached eggs and I'm hoping I can learn to consistently get properly done eggs out of these. Otherwise I'll abandon them. I'll get back to you on that...

I found a recipe for grits here: [...] This came out ok.

Does anyone else have any recipes for cooking in these?

2.0 out of 5 stars Tiny and not non-stick
These things are tiny, one egg each. And I was disappointed that the eggs stick like crazy to the silicone. They will be going in my next yard sale :(

4.0 out of 5 stars It is not non-sticking.
They worked great in my vegatable steamer, but do require some non-stick spray such as Pam before using them. I have settled on 5 minutes and 50 seconds for perfect poached eggs.

They work well. they do need oil in them to prevent sticking, but they make cleaning the pan so easy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice inexpensive Egg poachers
These work pretty good and are a good value. They do need to be “greased” or the eggs won’t release easily from them. Read more
