Cretu's watershed production,

I'm so thankful radio has not destroyed this song like it did with "Return to Innocence". "The Child in Us" alone makes *LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI* well worth the modern day purchase. It has a clever hook, is well thought out, is production savvy and has a timeless message. One of a few songs in popular culture that can introduce a foreign language element (outside of the chant vocals) and it works beautifully. Five minutes and four seconds is way too short for this song. Thank you, Michael.

Enigma's Modern Masterpiece,

This review is from: The Child In Us (MP3 Download)
For me, everything Enigma did before and after were just variations on a theme; whereas this song absolutely elevates Michael's style to something more sublime, more spiritual, and more beautifully "hopeful" than anything else he's done. I'm not a huge fan of Enigma, in general, but I would recommend this particular track to friends, family, and all lovers of great music without reservation.

Easily THE best song on Enigma's third album, "The Child In Us" requires no literal translation from Sankrit - if you listen to your inner voice. Melodic, beautiful hook with a timeless message.
