This is a great book for introducing young kids to the Word of God.
Freeman Stokes
To emphasize, this is a story book of bible stories and it is a very good one, but it is not a translation.
Who's It
It has nice illustrations and is easy enough for him to read and for all the kids to understand.

This Bible Story book breaks down the Bible into small enough sections to read aloud in just a few minutes a day. Covers the entire Bible in easy to digest pieces, good for the whole family!

I love this Bible because of its simplicity.

It does not have all of the Bible Stories in it, but it has

around 300 of them but in those 300 you will learn alot.

It gets to the point plus the illustrations by artist

Jose Montero are quite excellent- they will reinforce

the material you are reading. Author Anne De Graaf has done

magnificent Work in making the Bible more approachable to all (children, teens, and adults.)Knowing and Understanding about Jesus Christ(Our God) does not have to be complex. (don't worry about the percentages of people not liking this review, it is best to know the Bible in clear English.)

I have tried out a LOT of childrens Bibles with my kids (ages 3-7), and this one is head and shoulders above the rest. Most other Bibles we have tried do not keep my kids' attention. The illustrations are beautiful and interesting for them to look at without being too cartoonish, and the writing is not too advanced.

Stories divided into manageable lesson length. Gorgeous, realistic, historically faithful illustrations. Print large enough for older children to read along. Pictures captivating for younger children. Excellent adaptation of biblical text for children's understanding, witnessing to a compassionate, steadfast, and loving God, with a balanced and reasoned sensibility.

I have taught Sunday school and other religious programming for decades, and have studied Biblical criticism. This is by far my favourite resource. A frequent choice for any church school gifts, and always a pleaser for families.

Engaging for my three year old boy. The moral and spiritual messages within the stories are often well portrayed. I've actually broken down crying while reading certain ones to my little boy. So, I've changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars.

Sometimes it doesn't follow scripture on little details that are easy to correct, which is disappointing. My boy loves David and Goliath, so I know it pretty well. I was disappointed that the artist in the book portrayed Goliath as falling backward. NO, HE FALLS FORWARD, it says it clearly in the Bible.

We use this book for our young children when reading devotions and have read through it multiple times. It usually takes us about a year to read it from beginning to end, reading 1-2 sections per weekday. They are short, but well written. This is not a translation of the bible, but a story book of bible stories. So stories are paraphrased and retold with some dramatic emphasis. Only rarely are there minor details that I felt should have been left out or said better. They are provided in chronological order, but do not even come close to covering every story or idea on the Bible. However, I've compared many other children's bible resources and devotionals and found this to be far superior to most others available. There is plenty of material for discussion after reading it and the children like the pictures and stories. My youngest is now 8 and this year will probably be our last year of reading through this version, before we move on to a real translation of the bible. I like more literal translations of the bible, but even I have been moved as an adult reading some of these stories, as it can help to hear them in a simplified retelling. To emphasize, this is a story book of bible stories and it is a very good one, but it is not a translation. This is a good thing, as it is more accessible to children, just as if you were retelling a story to your children and would make it simple enough for them to understand. You could easily reference the full version of the stories or quote verses to your children, as each story in this book provides the scripture reference for the original source on each page.

We bought this children's bible used on Amazon for a gift. I didn't realize that it had been written in (just the inside cover..." this book belongs to: " ) So....while we couldn't give it as a gift, we get very much use out of it. We use it every night for our family bible reading and our 8 year old reads it aloud to all of us. It has nice illustrations and is easy enough for him to read and for all the kids to understand. Very good purchase for our family, even though it was accidental!
