Editorial Reviews

Review

The Chosen One challenges traditional notions of horror movies. --Catherine Fahy- The Advocate

It is alternately a dark gothic tale and a wicked satire that mixes European art film with a Grade B American horror aesthetic part Ingmar Bergman, part Val Lewton, and all Theodore Collatos. --John Mitchell- North Adams Transcript

I think your filmmaking does have a really nice creative piece to it and an edge to it… I said here is a filmmaker! --Michael Haley- Honeymoon Killers

Product Description

From a traditional lovecraftian tale of madness to the fetishized view of vampirism "The Chosen One" tells the tragic end of dreams for Samuel and Elizabeth Wolfe, a happily expecting married couple, and their unfortunate plunge into a fiendish nightmare, after being attacked by the undead of the worst sorts. The birth, life and undeath of the couples vampire child sends Samuel into a downward spiral of twisted and horrified events. The sadistic Dr. Abraham tries to raise and study their undead baby only to be infected by his work sending the town into a murderous frenzy…

All I can say is WOW! July 18, 2009
Format:DVD
This movie ended up being totally different than what I expected, and I couldn't be more pleased. The performances, the cinematography, the beautiful black and white images...it's a horror movie that someone with a PHD can really get behind. WATCH THIS FILM!

The Chosen One may look like an arty, black and white, French New Wave film, but it totally embraces all of the great b-movie horror conventions that I love. It's a real testament to the filmmakers that they're able to mix the two genres and make something wholly original and fun to watch.
